Hmmmmm....have a look at the great eBay thread and a post from our latest member on the ajb.
I think I've worked out who has purchased them and in my opinion seriously trying to take advantage.
Apparently 2 coats are available from him (meaning he's kept one for himself)
Could be, but it looks like he's selling jackets in Medium, the three that someone snapped up from the Manchester Trafford shop were all in Small. The same person could have bought those, of course. Maybe the buyer was Sir Alex Ferguson ordering them for his grandkids?
Just emailed Cultizm asking about the expected delivery date of the jacket and they have told me that they are still on schedule to receive the jackets from Barbour at the end of January and have them sent out early February.

I have just had the mind-numbing experience of reading through all 36 pages of this thread. First, thanks to all who have commented. Second, I am more confused than ever about what size I should have in this jacket. Based on all the "this jacket runs small, if you're in between sizes, order up!" propoganda, I went for a Medium when Kafka had them for sale in mid-December. I'm not a big guy: 5'6" and about 145 lbs, and someplace between a 36 and 38 chest.
Now that I've read that Daniel Craig wore a Medium in Skyfall, I'm not so sure that's right for me. Having read all and absorbed some of your comments, I'm guessing now that a Small jacket would be best if I want the tight look as the jacket is designed to be worn, but I'm hopeful that the Medium will work as well, particularly because I don't mind if the jacket is a little looser and I can wear a shirt and sweater underneath. Oh well, I'll find out soon enough.
Anyway, I spoke with someone at Selfridges, and they might be getting some more jackets in stock. Whether they will even be available to the public is unknown, as they have a list of people who want them, so who knows if the stock will exceed the list. Probably not, but then again maybe given that those three Small jackets were spotted in Manchester Trafford the other day.
Reading back through all the comments, I didn't notice Selfridges mentioned among the various shops that were taking pre-orders in December, though I might have missed it. Maybe that means that they were ordering additional stock at around the same time as the other places but didn't want to sell the jackets as pre-orders? Just a theory, I don't know how these things are generally done. But if you are in close proximity to one of the Selfridges shops, it might be worth checking in sometime in the next few days, you could get lucky.

I think it really is a case of just trying it on (sadly)
Indeed, and looking back I guess I should have ordered both Small and Medium, but it's not so easy to do that at these prices, even getting these jackets at retail. Oh well.
Whether it fits or not, this little odyssey had been interesting, to say the least. This is the first time in my life that I can recall ordering an item because I saw it in a film and thought it looked cool, though not the first time I went as far as researching to do so.
Attempt number one came when I saw the film "The Lives of Others" and loved the eyeglasses that a character wears. I failed at tracking down any info on them. Attempt number two came when I saw the eyeglasses that Daniel Craig wears in the Dragon Tattoo movie, but I haven't bought them due to price and finding some other decent glasses in the meantime. Funny (to me) that this site turns up in researching those glasses.
I fell in love with the Barbour as soon as I saw the movie and started googling and that's how I found this site. Even though I own a regular Barbour already, I didn't connect the jacket with Barbour when I saw the film, so they picked very well in finding a jacket that had the perfect look but without being overtly identifiable as a Barbour.
At this point, to be honest, I'm not sure if the jacket, in person, can even live up to my hopes and expectations. So I'm trying to dial them down and just hope that I end up with a good-looking and functional jacket -- if it fits. But anyway, thanks to the info I found here I have a chance at it, at least. So cheers.
Know how you feel mate, I was lucky to get a second Levi's as although I was initially happy with my XL, after a while I felt it was too baggy hence got a L.
The Barbour I've done the same thing, bought a XXL and thought it fitted perfect, but then after wearing it again had thoughts that it could be slimmer here, there etc hence preordered a XL.
Of course it's too expensive to do this but I've whacked it on my Credit card and closed my eyes, will sell the one which doesn't fit so good!!!

It would be a shame to waste this jacket after all the trouble to get it and how rare it is. I've heard of some people getting it adjusted so maybe a trip to the tailor and it'll fit you great. If not I'm sure somebody here will snap it up. Unfortunately a bit too pricey for me.
Also remember that the screen version was very stripped back to the actual jacket off the rack. A lot of the buttons, zip for the hood etc were removed, so it may look quite different when you first unwrap it!
You can always get Barbour to alter the fit for you. I had the sleeves done on mine and they made a great job
Yeah, and of course that's easier to do if it's a little too big as opposed to too small, as many have pointed out on here. So I'm not tooooo worried about the size. But anyway, aside from venting about my hopes and fears, the real point of my post was to tip off anyone who is still looking for one of these jackets that Selfridges MIGHT have more in stock in the coming days. And if you're unable to get into one of their shops, it might be worthwhile to ring up the London Oxford store and inquire about getting onto the wait list. You never know, people higher up on the list might have purchased jackets elsewhere since signing up, might not be as interested now, might have spent their funds elsewhere... you never know.
And if you're close to London, maybe they would let you try on a couple sizes for fit even if the jackets themselves are already spoken for but not yet shipped out. Call first, however.

Just thinking a bit more about your little odyssey made me reflect about my recent screen inspired purchases. And they actually add up to quite a lot without me noticing.
Besides the Craig era Bond clothes, here's some examples of things that I have tracked down because of movies (sorry to sidetrack from the Bond discussion): Diesel leather jacket and chelsea boots (Limitless), denim jacket and henleys (Drive)

Barbour UK did a great job shortening my sleeves as well, but they would not alter waist etc, they were quite adamant about it!
Welshboy, your measurements are the same as mine and an XL will be great on you. Can get snug on shoulders with layers under.
Hope your right, the XXL is fairly snug in the shoulders but baggy down below. Will give the XL a shot anyhow and if its a no go then I will get the XXL tailored by Barbour though that will be a total pain in the arse from my location!
I have a Medium, Large and XL in the Barbour Tokito jacket and have taken the following measurements if it helps ...
M L XL
Pit to Pit 22 22.5 23.25
Sleeve length 27 27.5 28
Back length 27.5 28.2 30.5
Shoulder 17.75 18 18.5
But as with a lot of other brands of jackets, two of the same size won't necessarily come up exactly the same. It really is a case of trying one on and seeing how it fits for you.
If the other jackets in the Tokito range are all cut the same, could you not pop in a Barbour store and try them on to see how they fit you. The rest of the range is no where near as popular as the sports jacket, so they should have plenty left. Just a thought though...

Same height, a little wider in the chest, and the medium is a "stylishly" snug fit in my shoulders. I don't know how much narrower the small is in the shoulders, but the medium will be a sure fit on you based on my experience, and the small might still work.

Not much longer to wait!
Ditto! It's been cold this weekend in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire!
I've been trying to wear it as much as possible in order to 'age' it for a more SA look!
Try swimin' in it!
LOL! It still wouldn't be SA, I only have Lakes on my doorstep, NO Lochs!
Don't worry, James Bond is English. Your Lakes are far more authentic than those watercourses in Braveheartland...!

Your shoulder size are quite important in determining the right size jacket in my opinion, its very narrow up there with these Barbours
To get a tight skyfall fit I would say a small..
