i really want to buy one of these jackets but cant decide Levis or Barbour, whats the general view, can you help me decide please
I went with Levi's so I can at least wear it down the pub )
im jeleous,, i want one !!!... ive looked at Mr Porter,, byt they aint screen acurate.. which one did you get ?? il have to wait another month till im back in the UK before i can start trying them on,, if !! i can find one,,
Re the sizing, I went to the Barbour shop in Convent Garden and tried on the screen accurate version and they are very small. I usually take a small/medium but I couldn't even get my arms into the medium so am going for the large. However quilted Barbours are a favourite of mine and I am debating getting the quilted version, especially as it's so heavily discounted.
no address on the contact page, and the email goes to a gmail account.....
hardly what i'd call a reassuring setup.
It's a small shop in Liverpool. I've spoken to them and all seems ok. Their email address is info@weaversdoor.com and if you add the code GOODFRIEND10 you'll get 10% discount on your first order.
I have nothing to do with this company but decided to give them a go. They have one jacket in large left.
no, it reminds me of a site my mrs pointed me to, she wanted ugg boots for xmas, and had found a 'good deal'. very convincing site with lots of positive reviews etc, nice quality logos and pictures too. i got through to the checkout stage and something made me google the site's name just to check, thank christ i did cos there were literally hundreds of people out of pocket and not a single pair of boots had arrived.
best be careful people, the theives are quick to react to trends these days and as soon as they sniff out a popular brand, especially screen-seen clothing they set these sites up overnight.
my advice, always look for a postal address on the contact page for a start, steer clear of sites with only mobile numbers or online forms to fill in for contact points, and if in doubt, steer clear.
The Barbour store in Philly didn't have it in stock - sales guy said it was from last year. Almost told him he's about to get a lot of requests for it, but screw it.
I wrote to Barbour directly in order to check this website out. I had already ordered mine through a reputable dealer.
This was the response from Barbour:
Dear (Me),
Thank you for your email below. We are aware of this website and have removed it several times in the past as it is counterfeit. Whoever is behind the site tends to then move it to another host so we are in a constant process of removal which means unfortunately some customers do get caught out in the ‘in between’ time. I have made further reports regarding this site.
I bought my Barbour at the weekend, i absolutely love it, when you take the hood off, the jacket is completely different, i found out that Barbour charge £35 to re-wax the coat and if you have any missing buttons, rips in the pocket etc they repair them too so the jacket comes back like new.

That's a different jacket though. I'd like the film version in navy, but not a fan of that quilted look.
Thanks to your advice i sized up and got the last one in Medium. It really is skinny compared to the standard Barbour fit.
Really nice for our "summer" this year.

Have you tried on a medium? These jackets are very deceptive in size.
Mine arrived today, quilted version, absolutely love it.
