Filing a claim or dispute doesnt do anything. Those fees are brokerage fees that the couriers (DHL, FedEx, UPS) charge when they import stuff. Since its their fees, they're not regulated and can charge whatever they want.
Reason why I canceled my order, DHL was going to ship it, they wanted 90 dlls in fees. Fck that
Well, spoke to Fedex this morning and taxes are due... $46 CDN. What a pain! I may try and dispute since Cultizm sent as 'replacement'. We'll see how that goes. Should be delivered today, or Monday at the latest. Problem is, weather is terrible out, so I'm not at the office! Now I have to wait!
Should have been marked with zero value and marked as a replacement item, if goods were faulty, if it's sizing that you got wrong you'll not get anywhere

ETA is for this wednesday. All my other gear is ready (budget sweater, henley, Iggy Cords, custom dyed scarf and stafford camlins will have to substitute for my upcoming Islays).
EXIT, I assume you ordered a medium? When yours arrives let us know about the button placement...
i saw mid thread a comment that this jacket was made in UK.
i recieved my jacket in first batch from jcrew in use, you can see posts from me early in thread, i am somewhat shocked to see that jacket was made in bulgaria. the normal COO tag is not under the barbour shields inside.
i only noticed recently when reading thru a thread on barbour at styleforum.
while i know and understand that barbour sources around the world, i am surprised that the high end product such as this is not made in the home factory. sounds like standard beauforts, beadles, and border models are.
just my two cents....
wondering if there are multiple country of origins which might help explain some of the inconsistencies in color and button placement.
The Bulgarians are notorious for their adherence to the doctrine of even button placement. Differences in country of manufacturer could solve the button mystery once and for all.
none lodge jacket related, i my new hacking jacket from spring 13 collection, "made in bulgaria" is prominently displayed under all the barbour shields...
Ha ha... Just got out of bed to check mine & inside pocket just tells me model number, name & washing instructions (sponge clean etc.). Date of 10/12 but no country of manafacture! Btw mine is not sa button placement but I don't care about that

Hey guys just to add back to the sizing debate, I got a medium put it on, took it off and sent it back. The large for those a little bigger built is the way and I reiterate that DC will have been a large modified. I had 1cm taken off the arm from elbow to a little before the wrist and it fits just like the movie, I also had a cm or so taken in each side and the result is perfect and very SA fit wise (minus the infamous button of course.
Just picked mine up from Barbour Madison Ave. pre-order. They received 27 for a wait list of around 150. The Bulgaria sign is quite prominent on the inside:
I am a 36-37 inch chest and the small is pretty much a perfect fit. Definitely snug under the arms, but for the fitted suit jacket style it works well. I tried the medium, and it was much more of the old style Barbour look. It would have been OK for actually shooting and outdoor sports, but that was not the idea for me. Unfortunately buttons are not SA. I had been leaning towards zip removal etc., but given the buttons are wrong anyway, I probably won't. Love the jacket though.
And they told me the 2013 fall range would feature a lot of new items 'in the same style'....
My tailor accepted the challenge of shortening the sleeves and removing the hood zipper as well as extra buttons. There were some chalk marks where the buttons came off but you'd otherwise never know it didn't come from the factory like that.
Would anyone care to comment on their experience with non-Barbour tailored alterations to their Lodge Jacket?
I know some of you have had the sleeves shortened, others have had the back taken in or let out, the zipper removed, etc.
Just looking for the positives and the negatives and the odd word of wisdom.
Cheers.
I had sleeves taken in from elbow to wrist to give a more fitted look, initially the sleeves were slightly too long, but the pinch on the sides made it perfect without running the risk of a tailor unstitching and re-stitiching the leather finnish on the cuffs. I also had the sides taken in to give the waist a more hourglass shape like a suit jacket and like the movie. End result was perfect and you would think it came that way. Cost me 20euro for an express service, done in 30mins.

Wonder if they outsourced them to be made in Bulgaria to meet the huge reissue demand.
Mine does not have it written on either side of the white tag either
Mine also had no such label.
I believe it is a US legal requirement to have the country of manufacture "clearly" stated on the garment. I know that this is not the case in the UK.
I see this all the time with Ralph Lauren items I purchase in europe (no country of manufacture stated) and the much cheaper (I must add) items bought in the US.
Barbour must have allocated a certain amount of production to "US specification" - which in this case is shown as the "Made in Bulgaria" tag between the Barbour and To Ki To labels.
A few weeks ago, I ordered two lodge jackets, one in small and the other one in medium. Today, I've received my (first) Barbour To Ki To jacket in small. Usually, I wear suits in EU 46 (US 36) and other jackets in S. I'm 5'11'' tall, chest = 38'', waist = 32.5".
Overall the small one fits very good. There are no problems with the chest or waist, even the length seems ok, but the armholes are a bit too high or just too small, which becomes a bit uncomfortable after a while.
-> If nothing goes wrong, I will receive my medium lodge jacket on Monday and then I will give you an update with exact measurements and pictures of both jackets.
My lodge jacket has the very discreet and hard to find made in Bulgaria tag on/in the inside chest pocket.
My recently purchased, this week, hacking blazer has it prominently sewn in under the warrant / shield labels like I'm seeing on the second round of lodge jackets.

Bugsy.

I emailed barbour, my impression is Bulgaria is a normal factory for them.

Would love to see some pics.
