Have just bought mine of ebay... prob paid higher then you guys but really wanted one. :)

I was lucky i phoned an online gentlemans store in the uk early december to find out if they had any available. To my surprise they said they had one more pre-order left for a large. Perfect i said I'll take it. Got it a few weeks ago paid £399 which i believe was the RRP. I know ebay people are selling them for double that if not more.

I have heard from various insiders that Barbour will be releasing a cheaper variation of To ki To Lodge Jacket.. Although i have no idea if or when that will happen.

Got mine for retail from fellow forum member kadd who was also generous enough to meet me in London.
Great addition to the wardrobe and contemplating getting the re-issue/SA version/commander/whatever it's called :)) if the quality is the same (and price is cheaper)

My brother is still looking for one at cost in Newcastle, either a medium or a large.

Looks like there is still a Large available at bazar royal

    http://www.bazarroyal.com/product_info.php/info/p1409_BARBOUR---Sports-Jacket---Olive.html

I ordered and received my medium from Cultizm--couldn't agree more with all the positive feedback regarding them. Ordered my jacket on Tuesday and received it Friday, and I'm located in Los Angeles.

Regarding fit, for those still curious, I'm 5'8'' 160 lbs, 31W, 38S / 40S jacket size, athletic build and go for the fitted look. The medium jacket turned out to be the ideal fit for me. Shoulders are a bit tight, but will hopefully loosen with some wear. The jacket definitely runs tight in the shoulders as I usually wear a small to medium size jacket, and this is the tightest fitting medium jacket I own. Hope this helps!

AW13 = Autumn/Winter 2013, meaning this will be part of the line coming out late summerish for the cooler months. Scroll back a few pages and you'll see a photo I snapped from a Barbour trade catalog, it shows a suggested retail price of $729 or so. It probably won't be much cheaper than the original.

Well, still very expensive, yes, but all the original To Ki To items were very expensive even before the Skyfall connection. Cheers to all the shops that kept selling them at the original price of 395-400 quid or the Euro equivilent.

And who knows what shops will really charge for the Commander. Maybe a little less? I'm not sure what the suggested retail price of the original was in the US, maybe $749 or $799?

Thanks for the GREAT photos. I'm glad I waited and don't have to go through making the mods to the tokito. B-)

No hood, no zips, much more fitted around the chest and shoulders. It's coming out AW13. Was informed not to buy the current Sports Jacket, as this one is due later in the year.

How do you know the fit it different to the Beacon Heritage jacket? You say it's more fitted in the shoulders and chest, have you got that wrong? Surely this would be looser for the western market.
  • drugtestdrugtest Posts: 116MI6 Agent
Maybe he meant more fitted than the standard Barbour? Which would mean that the Commander is fitted like the Sports Jacket, which I suspect it will be.
  • NorthShieldsTwoNorthShieldsTwo ShieldsPosts: 13MI6 Agent
From experience wearing other Barbour jackets, this is certainly more fitted than standard.

It basically fits me as you would imagine, it's what I imagined it would fit like looking at the one Daniel Craig wears.

NorthShieldsTwo, do you have any info on what else of interest might be coming out in the AW13 line? I'm asking both as a Sports Jacket fan and as a general Barbour/To Ki To enthusiast (recently converted).
  • NorthShieldsTwoNorthShieldsTwo ShieldsPosts: 13MI6 Agent
The Commander jacket isn't going to be a To Ki To, but part of the Department B line. There's a few nice pieces from what I've seen, but nothing close to how nice the Commander is. From what I hear, Barbour's Department B line will be the premier line, taking over the the equivalent To Ki To items at the top of the tree.
  • drugtestdrugtest Posts: 116MI6 Agent
Thank you. I knew Dept B wasn't branded as To Ki To (which is either ending or on hiatus after SS13) but I was wondering if any other Dept B items were similarly "inspired" by To Ki To items. I see from the label in your photos that Dept B is under the Beacon Brand umbrella so, as you say, it should be their highest end stuff.

Anyone in the uk or in the Manchester area (either dont mind) got an x to ki to size medium for sale? Don't wanna pay the ludicrous ebay prices. Would be great help and very much appreciated. Pm me please - cheers fellas

Dept B, is the old Barbour section for customizing and repairing items back in the day. it is replacing To Ki To.

Greetings, I apologize if this has been covered already but this thread is getting so long I don't know where to begin. I wanted to see if any of you have had your Lodge Jacket modified, i.e. had the zipper and buttons removed? If so, how did it turn out, are you happy with the result? Did you have Barbour do it or did you take it to a tailor?

Also, have any of you tried to get it tailored? I just received mine. Second generation. I find it fits well in the shoulders but is roomy in the body.

    Thanks

I removed the buttons myself and then rewaxed those areas.

Oh no the button placement continues to mystify even on the new bond commander! They state it's a release to look like Bonds jacket in Skyfall, and then get the button spacing wrong, I really don't get it?

Stuarts is doing pre-orders of the Commander in all sizes. But photo shows non SA button placement. Delivery is expected end of June

Go one page back to the pics that NorthShields posted (post 1,655 I think)

The first pic shows the correct spacing. The space between the middle and bottom button is closer than the spacing between the top and middle button.

Minor thing, but if you want to be pedantic (like me), then you notice these things.

According to the stuarts site Tokihito Yoshida (To Ki To) is mentioned when refering to the new jacket

"Showing our 2 Barbour x Tokihito Yoshida (To Ki To) Barbour Commander Jacket MWX0007 OL71 Dept B reviews with an average rating of Excellent"
