I mentioned a few posts ago that I have a brand new XL up for grabs if someone needs one. If I don;t hear from anyone i"ll be returning it on Monday.

As I understand, there will be no more ToKiTos, which is a real shame ... I love mine (the one I am keeping!)

    PM sent.

    PM'd ya back.

Nice excursion about the actual hight of DC :) , but now I would really love to get some information about the sizing of the new Barbour commander jacket, especially in comparison to the To Ki To lodge jacket.

As far as I know only NorthShields actually has one in hand on here. Believe he said he got a sample. Otherwise the new Commander has not been released yet so others can only speculate.

You can always try. When I got them to swap mine, they asked if it was new with tags etc. But they didn't ask for a receipt or anything, so buying off ebay shouldn't be the problem.

Also Barbour accepting a used jacket may not be an issue but Barbour having a spare for the exchange may be.

You didn't buy it from them. It's not faulty. You've worn it.... twice. And I doubt they have stock anyway.

if the manufacture spec says that the bottom 2 buttons are not evenly spaced and mine are then it has been made wrong!!
it shouldn't matter if its been worn or not its still made wrong.

8-) Look, It does not make any sense arguing with us here on the board. Noone of us owns Barbour and noone can make that decision.
Asp9mm gave you good reasons why Barbour may deny to exchange it and your chances are best, when the tag is still on and the item can be sold.
It can't when you have worn it previously, so it will be a total writeoff for them.

But it may be worth trying, it should not get worse than hearing a "no" from them.

Who knows, maybe they will give you a new and sa one. You won't get it if you don't try.... ;)

Let us know what they say?

Maybe they will give u a full refund and offer you a couple of grand to keep you from bad mouthing them on clothing sites and fashion programs..

Then again they might just say no.

Try selling it on here...for slightly less than what you paid for it ( that's only fair) as I, sure someone would like it.

    Cheers and good luck

What size is it? They have no large left at all for certain. I think the fact that the tags are off it you will be stuffed as they wouldn't be able to sell it on.

The fact you bought it from eBay wouldn't make a difference tho.

It's the XLs that don't have the SA buttons. I'd be surprised if it's any other size.
  • jon_1ukjon_1uk Posts: 674MI6 Agent
mine is a medium and it doesn't have the SA buttons..
it aint bad enough to want to sell it but i thought f everyone else is jumping on the band wagon and getting there's swapped.

Sorry pitch, no idea what you're talking about...

    I/we were talking to jon1uk....

I can see you have had a wonderful after sales experience from the excellent Barnbour people...

So are you too suggesting Jon try them?

    Then we're on same page.

I am Just curious what difference it makes in regards to the button spacing? Does the wrong spacing mean its a lesser garment or faulty (No). Last year when I learnt it was a To K To I looked at the price and though that's twice the price of any other Barbour I own. Then saw the film and the whole Skyfall Lodge look grew on me. Then behind the curve at that point I thought sod it buy one only to find rare as rocking horse do do. Watched EBay debated nee agonised over the right size choice and got one for £50 more than RRP (Result). Now I have it I am happy with the fit and jacket and have not even noticed the button spacing (now refuse to look). I am happy I have the coat and think myself lucky, I receive nice comments about it and no one would really give a toss about the button spacing as they just would not know. Only people here may pick up on it but I suspect would not comment face to face as at the end of the day you have a fine Barbour that will serve you well and just happened to be worn by a fictional film character called James Bond.

    Cheers

P.S ever thought SA can be taking it a bit too far B-)
P.P.S Never understood why you would remove a perfectly good hood zip and make it useless again no one outside this forum should even notice that level of detail.

I pretty much feel the same. An inch difference in the placing of one button is a needless attention to detail.

That said, I unpicked the zip myself as I thought it looked silly without the hood and I would never use the hood - I have other coats that do that but, if you haven't, fair enough.

Fair one but i guess its been pooring here for the last few days so having the hood was useful :))

Unfortunately not. i got an XL and a Large from the same batch and store and while the Large is SA the XL is not.

I kept the Large for the fit though, but if the buttons bother you, I don't have a jacket for you I'm afraid.
