Although Daniel Craig is muscular he is not a bulky guy and therefore the Barbour jacket will be more fitted on him.
He's probably wearing a medium size to get that sort of look. In Casino Royale he was 172lbs and was not big like most people thought he was.
All you have to do is watch the biography channel series when Jonathan Ross is talking with him as he wears a grey t-shirt. He does not look as large as how they made him appear in CR. Camera angles change perception greatly.
Well I talked to the Barbour NY store tonight and they convinced me NOT to try and get into a Medium. I'm not even that big. I'm only 176cm tall and not built like Mantis here or Daniel Craig and across the back from seam to seam I'm about 18" and the Large is only 18.5". Plus even their head office told me that it's easier to tailor down from a Large then try to go up from a Medium.... so I pulled the trigger on the last Large the NY store had. It will be on its way tomorrow.
Anyway I think I'll be happy. I still have pounds to lose around the waist and pounds to gain on my chest and shoulders so in the end I think this will work out for the best. Worst case I can have them alter it which they already said they can do as long as I give them exact measurements.

Also forgot to mention that the arm length on the Large is 27" from arm seam to wrist. I have pretty long arms and a comfy length would be 26" at most. I have a Belstaff Patterson with an arm length of 26.5" and it's a bit much. However once I put on weight on shoulders/chest it will naturally pull the jacket up slightly. I don't think that's an option here with a full inch longer so alteration is the only choice later on.
JBG, I know I have posted these but this will show you post-tailoring that mine hugs the shoulders and arms but still bells a bit...
then if you see from the side it looks more fitted....
I really hate ( 8-) ) to rain on your parade, but IMHO you looked better in your Barb. post-tailoring. It flares open a bit too much on the front in your podcast
But I have been a B-bour fan since the late '90s and I like the traditional fit of the Beaufort jacket best, when it comes to wax jackets. And you know how those are fitted, more like a tarpaulin than a jacket. )

JBG is correct...both podcast and pics are post tailoring...and I am with you on the traditional Barbours...I have one from a few years ago and a tarp is a good description!

The jacket looks like brown and not green or olive. I am thinking the color of the picture has been retouched. Then the color of the sweter could be blue, green, grey,... or the blue sweter could be the storm flap retouched.

Spoke to a distributor of barbour today in the hope of buying a coat.
He told me his supplier had told him barbour were releasing a bond coat that was a slightly different color and had a bond label in it.
Not sure if this is in any way true just thought I would pass it on.

I didn't mention a SkyFall edition jacket but I would be VERY surprised if Barbour came out with one...but you never know. I am very satisfied with the non-label one.
