All done, sorry didn't document though not much to show. Sharp scissors cut close to the seam slowly as Asp said and then can tidy up pulling out loose bits. (I could keep pulling out more of the zipper thread bits but will do in front of TV when bored)
Pretty damn simple as Asp said - should have done it ages ago as looks much nicer without extra buttons
I brushed over the button holes with some warm water - holes have basically disappeared with the fibres covering them etc but slight diff colour so guess I need to apply wax. My first jacket felt quite waxy, I sold that as I sized down etc but this one does not seem to have as much applied so guess not enough on there to spread over the holes as someone a few years ago suggested with some success
While shopping around, I noticed that Barbour made one in their olive waxed cotton. Looked like it would match the Sports Jacket pretty perfectly, but that it has a snap instead of ties or buttons.

I have the To Ki To, as well as a Barbour Bedale. As often noted, the lodge jacket doesn't breathe as well as most other Barbour jackets, even though the underarms are gusseted. But if you dress appropriately beneath, you needn't feel like you're wrapped in plastic wrap either.
In terms of the weather, I have found it to be bombproof. Just as rain resistant as any other Barbour. Of course, being waxed canvas with a wool lining, it isn't light, but you won't have to worry about being warm.
I have never tried the Lutz so I can't compare the two, but I get raves on my To Ki To whenever I wear it.
Love the look of my To Ki To but have to be selective of when I wear it due to sweating.
As others have already mentioned it doesn't breathe well so if it's not cold enough, or I'm doing a lot of "London" walking in and out of shops / the tube etc, it stays in the closet

Well, I wouldn't wear a heavy wool sweater (or jumper as some say) under mine. Maybe very fine gauge merino.
The thing to remember is that this was advocated as a "blazer." It's not meant for layering. In this, I think it's like the Billy Reid peacoat. If you're going for a SA look, you don't want to bulk up.
I have a 44 inch chest.
I own both the To Ki To in size XL which I bought first. It's roomy enough that I can actually layer under it if I want, but I never do because it's such a warm jacket.
Later I bought the Commader in size L because I wanted to have an option that was closer to the original blazer concept.
Both "fit" me. I just happen to wear them on different occasions, depending on the weather, etc.
I'd believe you would want a size M. But I'd trust someone else who actually is of your size.

I am a quasi-bodybuilder with comical proportions and found the L to be near perfect, it buttons-up no problem. I have a 46 inch chest with a drop to a 34 inch waist, and the jacket fits great. Only issue is the arms are very long and I'm going to have to shell out the cash to get them shortened at least 2 or 3 inches. Also, yeah, I don't layer much while wearing it. A thin sweater or henley will do fine. It's a very warm jacket and the sweat effect is real, though I don't notice it until I take it off.

To those of you who went with jackets that were on the smaller side, did you find that the armhole/shoulder tightness stretched and gave a little over time? I ask this because I have owned a Commander in size small for years but it has always been a bit too big and not fitted like I prefer. I've always been apprehensive to have it tailored. That said, I am currently living in London for a few months and I ordered the current offering, the Beacon, in XS and while the jacket fit perfectly everywhere, the armholes and shoulders were pretty tight. I returned the jacket but since I did I keep thinking about it and wondering if the armholes and shoulders might give a little bit over time if I wore the jacket for a little while.

However, the design of these jackets is definitely tight in the shoulders. So your jacket is fitting as intended by Barbour.

If the Lutz is the same as the Tokito then there is a plastic lining in the jacket. This doesn’t let your body breathe so it feels like wearing a plastic bag. And the inside of the jacket traps the moisture from your body.

Yes, this is correct, it has both the inner plastic liner and also a quite non-breathable tartan liner too which is what I have had replaced the sleeves again have some weird material inside which cause sweating.

My zip is now off - now pulling out the remaining bits etc with tweezers for a nice clean flawless seam! Very simple (so far lol)!
