Casino Royale Without The Bourne Influence

Given that CASINO ROYALE was to be the next Bond film anway it would be interesting to see how script & casting might have panned out if Bourne had never existed in that 2002-2006 period. My own thoughts are that it would still have stayed close to its source novel. No reboot & more of the 'traditional' Bond elements, perhaps even retaining the services of Pierce Brosnan. Any thoughts from other members?

No. They would have had to have invented more action. Most of the novel is the card game. There simply wasn't enough action for a book. Look at "the spy who loved me." Other than fleming not wanting it to be made into a film, there are obvious reasons why they're completely different.
