hmmm, my re-issue is brown/worn leather...very dark like a coffeeno cream dark...
Yeah my leather on the neck is dark brown i think but the pockets look black spoke to graham he said was a natural variation in leather from peacoat to peacoat the leather color changes slightly.

The leather accents on my coat are a "worn" dark brown/coffee-like color, as well.
I'm also under the belief that my coat is black. I really don't see any navy in it at all. Was about to e-mail Graham and Matt for more info.
Deep deep navy looks black. And many navy peacoats look black. If you google navy peacoats they actually detail this on many sites.
The US Navy Pea Coat was adopted during the early 20th Century, from Britain’s Royal Navy Reefer Jacket. The Royal Navies first regulations for uniforms for other ranks were issued in 1857, a century after the regulations for officers and this garment was originally used by Midshipmen ( Reefers ). These crewmen had to climb the rigging and furl and unfurl, or ‘reef’, the sails of the sailing ships of the era. The jacket was short, to allow ease of movement through the rigging. It had a double-breasted front, which displaced the buttons to each side. This helped reduce the chance of them getting caught on ropes, as the wearer maneuvered the sails. The pockets were often close to vertical, and over the flanks, rather than horizontal and at wrist level. It was made of a very heavy wool, in dark Navy blue, with a nap on the face side. Color can be confusing. US navy color "Blue 3346" is such a dark navy blue as to appear black to the human eye.
The success of the style is proved by its singularly universal appearance throughout the Navies of Europe. This may account for the US Navies nomenclature as an Anglicization of the Dutch ‘Pijekkat, being a jacket made of ‘Pij’ (a coarse wool) cloth. Conversely, it may be from the shortening of the Belgium Navies term ‘Pilot’s Jacket’ to P. Jacket, then being misspelt / adapted to Pea Coat. The term ‘Pea Jacket’ is reputed to first appear in the Oxford English Dictionary between 1717 and 1723. ‘Pea Coat’ does not appear for another century.

You see my peacoats Colour is navy is dark but quite noticeably a navy colour it's the leather which looks completely black
Also guys if your worrying about sizing on the peacoat go true to size! Im normally a small for a very slim fit and a medium for a good fit and i got a medium and fits very nicely i could probably fit into the small. Definitely space for layers on my medium. So any advice just go for the size your used to in your jackets and you will be happy!
Love the forum, long time reader, first time poster! Has anyone received an XL who also fits an XL Barbour. Normally I'm a L, but was told to size up to XL Barbour, which fits great. Ordered the XL BR, as advised similar sizing! Any advice/confirmation would be most helpful. On a side note, Graham and the team at BR are first class when it comes to customer service!

Hi mate,
I would go with a large if your normally a large i recon there pretty true to size depends on fit your going for xl will probably be spacious where as if you wanted the fitted look go for the large.
I have heard through a VERY reliable grapevine that the next round (And all those missing mediums) should arrive at their distribution facility this coming Monday.

Firstly, thanks for all the regulars of this board who worked with Billy Reid to reissue this coat. I know that some of you have been upset that a new backorder of the peacoat has been issued, but from one who was late to the party, I really do appreciate the opportunity to get this coat. For that I'm grateful.
I just talked to one of the main guys at Billy Reid today, and unfortunately found out that the Bond Peacoat is no longer going to be a limited run. They plan to issue it as a 'normal' item due to its popularity, and will also issue one next year as well.
I still think it's the best looking coat out there, and am eagerly trying to get ahold of a small (wink wink), as I do not want to wait patiently another two months!
The price of the coat will not drop...this is their standard price for their pea coats and their productions costs and process will not be changing.
I believe he means the price will drop on the second hand market, like things usually do for used goods, instead of having retail or higher value because of it being a limited edition item.

I too was disappointed when they said that. I ended up buying this one instead

This is the 800 dlls black coat. IMO, much better looking/formal looking
I'm in the UK and just got my Size M coat today..... A friend brought it over from NY. I'm a regular size 40 jacket and boy is the jacket snug or what.....I assumed I'm same size as Daniel Craig but he must be smaller than I thought....I would not be able to get anything under the jacket other than a shirt and maybe v thin jumper. Also the leather bit on the collar is BLACK. He jacket looks nice and very very fitted which is cool but to be honest it is taking the mick when they don't even give you an inner lining and hence no internal pockets for a 400 quid jacket. Guess it does not matter a stuff when you are doing it for a movie but for practical day wear this is really disappointing. My wife's reaction is you have got to be kidding.... It just seems like it is half finished and I know how a good jacket should be made such as belstaff etc. don't get me wrong it is still nice but for the money I wold expect more!

Nope not saying I want a large.... I would recommend a large to anyone who is size 40 in a suit and who wants a bit of room for a jumper etc underneath. Just commenting that very trim fit and I would not say true to your normal size - if you normally take a size M then I would say L in this jacket esp if you want to be able to wear layers. Lack of any lining or finish inside is a joke for an expensive jacket.

I was just wondering if anyone in the UK might have received their medium coat yet?
Likewise, I'd like to check as I switched from a Large to a Medium, hoping it was the right decision!
If anyone has one that doesn't fit, or for some other reason would like to sell, please message me asap or email. I can send paypal immediately.
Will have mine in a couple of days
