So, lots to choose from, but The Prisoner is mine, hands down. Then the Doctor. UFO is not too far behind.

So people- Avengers, Danger Man, Danger Mouse, Space 1999, Hitchhiker?
Fawlty? :))
Tell us your pics!
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

Danger Man for me by far. The Prisoner, Emma Peel-era The Avengers , and Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes are all high on my list as well. And Monty Python goes without saying.

Trouble is I have so many favourites some are, in no order.

    The Avengers & New Avengers
The Saint, The Persuaders, Department S, Dr Who
    The professionals, Space 1999, UFO.

I haven't included the comedy shows as there as just too many.

So much great stuff from a better era of telly. I have so many favourites, it's untrue. Here are twenty off the top of my head:-

    The Professionals
    The Sweeney
    Space: 1999
    UFO
Dr. Who (the Tom Baker years)
    Blake's 7
    Return Of The Saint
    The New Avengers
    The Tomorrow People
    Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased)
    The Persuaders
    The Protectors
    The Incredible Hulk
    Battle Of The Planets
Return To The Planet Of The Apes
    Logan's Run
    The Man From Atlantis
    The Baron
    The Count Of Monte Cristo
    The Adventurer

Like everyone, I could go on.... & on.... & on....

Silent Witness, Waking dead, Prime suspect...the darker psychological thrillers.
Comedy would include Yes Minister, Not going out, Mrs Browns boys...
Dr who of course...of all era's..
And reality shows like Masterchef, Great British Menu, Big brother, I'm a celeb...

A bit of a mixed bag really, so couldn't narrow it down to 1 genre...although if I had too, then it would be darker psychological thrillers.. :)

Big Tam with you all the way with The Sweeney, The Professionals and Return of The Saint - loved Ian Ogilvy :x

And Ens007 'Cracker' was a brilliant programme. I also loved 'Between The Lines'

Oooh, me too, Ian was dreamy... I also had a bit of a crush on Martin Shaw too (still do if I'm honest ;% )

Doctor Who - its own 50th anniversary next year, I love all eras in their own way
    The Prisoner - just perfection IMO. No other TV series where each ep is so consistently brilliant -{
The Saint - I prefer Roger Moore in this than as Bond
The Sweeney - oh I just like car chases :D
The Professionals - there's an ep with a nuclear bomb. too cool!

Next to Lewis Collins, I just can't get over his hair! Perhaps it's because I've only watched it recently - I'm sure it was all the rage at the time.
Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes - one of the best recent drama series IMO. Only started watching because my mate's dad and uncle were extras, but Gene Hunt gripped me for 5 series and it introduced me to a huge array of music. :)

Comedy, oh where do I begin.

Hancock's Half Hour - "very nearly an armful" is all I hear when I go to give blood :))
Dad's Army - the same clips come out when it's mentioned but I also adore the less well known ones
Porridge - recently re-watched some and had forgotten how good it was
The Good Life - I like it mainly for scenes with Jerry and Margo
Monty Python - never got it first time but went back later and it was like a light bulb had gone on :o
Fawlty Towers - one of my earliest memories is laughing at Basil hitting his car :))
Yes Minister/Prime Minister - the relationship between Jim Hacker and Sir Humphries gripped me at a time when I first cared about politics. Nice to know some of it was based on real Westminster events.
The Young Ones - it should be silly and not funny but somehow I love it (repeating actions in Maths class is not advisable though :# )
Blackadder - "I'm beginning to see why the suffragette movement want the vote." "Hey! Any girl who wants to chain herself to my railings and suffer a jet movement gets my vote!"
Goodnight Sweetheart - time travel love story. It grabbed me at a time when WW2 first really fascinated me.
Men Behaving Badly - I know too many guys like them.
Gavin and Stacey - has become my ultimate comfort/ill/hungover box set. Just lovely.
Not Going Out - grown on me with each viewing. So glad they brought it back.

These are my stand out ones, though I've probably missed something out and there's probably some that people would disagree with. I don't watch reality tv or soaps, documentaries only occasionally, so I find I invest a lot of time in drama and comedy. :)

After chrisisall and Le Samourai both mentioned Danger Man, as well as having seen it mentioned in several places a lot before, I've just watched the first ep. Think I may end up adding it to my list!
I didn't expect something so good for a tv programme from 50 years ago. It was really good so I'm hoping the rest holds up to it. With Patrick McGoohan I'm sure it will.

Ian always wore white trousers and had a white car... Neither of which were ever dirty !! How did he manage that ! :))

And I was always a Lewis Collins girl .... ;)

Nice to see 'Not Going Out' getting a few mentions .... Great little programme. Lee Mack is hysterical.

For a time I felt Ian Ogilvy might have made a good Bond but on reflection the similarities to Moore may have precluded him.

FAWLTY TOWERS & RISING DAMP. Both works of comedy genius. Leonard Rossiter is quite simply masterful.

Anyone of a certain age remember a 1973 BBC children's serial called LIZZIE DRIPPING? She made friends with a witch from memory. The witch frightened the life out of me at the time!

It is a funny programme...and it's got funnier as the series has progressed....be interesting how they move on now that Tim Vine has left though...

    For a REALLY great and funny programme...go and watch Early Doors....Northern humour at it's very best...one day this will be held in the same regard as Fawlty Towers -{

    Yea...he had to be persuaded to do the last series...I hope they can 'persuade' him again....but he sounded pretty adamant this time...and I'm certain the BBC have commissioned a further two series as well -{
