Just purchased an Italian black faille silk Bowtie from Sam Hober. Neat thing is, Sometimes faille is referred to as grosgrain. Although there are variations in the width and spacing of the various failles and grosgrains they are all similar weaves. I'm very pleased with this purchase. It looks spot on to the Bowtie Tom ford issued for skyfall! Hey for $64 not a bad find! Can't wait to wear it.
I just wore this TF tie to a wedding last week. It's from the Spring '12 line, and it's the standard width (3 5/8"), not the slim width. But it's the same pattern and very close in color to the "Skyfall" London tie.
Guys what Knot does Bond use in Skyfall i mean tie knot style (windsor, half windsor etc), i notice that it is very sleek and narrow
any ideas ?
Cheers

Four-in-hand knot has been Bond's staple knot. With occasionally going with a double windsor knot that sean Connery would wear which Literary Bond did not like. But for the most part it was always a four-in-hand knot
Guys trying to avoid trailers , but can anyone tell me in skyfall does bond wear 2 tuxedos the midnight blue and a black one or is it just a midnight blue one. No black? Cheers

As far as I can tell, the only tuxedo Bond wears in Skyfall is the midnight blue shawl lapel one that can be seen in the trailers & posters. In dim lighting, such as the Macau casino scenes, it can look black, but in bright sunlight the blue colour becomes much more obvious.
I was in Nieman Marcus in Atlanta over the weekend, and found a TF tie (standard width) that is the same colors as the PTS tie, just the color scheme is reversed. I'll try to get some pics up later.
I was in Milan last week and took the chance to visit the Tom Ford flagship store. A very polite shop attendant showed me all the, "so called" James Bond ties. On the end he showed me the same ties that are claimed being Bond ties be Herrods and Selfridges in London. However the ties were not tagged a Bond ties but he showed me a lot of stills from SF showing Bond wearing the TF ties and suites. Unfortunately the pics were not with enough good resolution that could allow me to detect exactly all the ties.
Another funny think I have found surfing the web is that a pretentious Italian webpage that talks about Bond has got a hint directly from the fashion house Marinella from Naples. According to them the Bond production contacted Marinella asking for some ties to be worn by Daniel Craig during the filming of Skyfall. They are even attaching a photo claiming which is the right tie.
I have never seen this news before but I doubt that the Bond production is getting in touch with another tie producer after having an agreement with TF.
I have nothing against Marinella, that is very good, serious and traditional tie producer established in Naples way before Mr. Tom Ford was even born. However I seriously doubt that producers contacted Marinella and also that Marinella is claiming that his ties are in the movie. IMHO looks like somebody is trying to have his 15' of glory standing on the wave that the realise of a new Bond movie is creating. I think that such affirmation should be verified three times before being published as it can damage both parities.
I might be mistaken and I would be just happy fo Marinella if they did supply the Bond production with their ties. However I have found this news only on that site and by googling I found nothing whatsoever. Did anybody hear this news somewhere else?
Sadly, that tie doesn't even come close to the "Skyfall" tie seen in the photo. Tom Ford provided all the ties in the film (along with the suits) - that fact has not been disputed. The confirmed TF tie worn with the black pinstriped suit is this one -
Marinella makes some nice grenadine ties (as do many other makers) that somewhat look like that charcoal checked (or mock grenadine) tie worn with the charcoal striped suit above. But it's a proven Tom Ford tie, just like the other few. I really like the Tom Ford tie since it harks back to Connery's grenadine ties. It's a nice touch for the 50th Anniversary, though it's too bad they didn't want to take many cues from Connery's suits.

I own the tie too, but it's not the same "Skyfall" tie. It's more blue/silver than grey/black, and it's the wider 3 5/8", not the correct slim tie. TF hasn't released the "Skyfall" ties (as seen in the promo images) yet.
DBS and Rebenton are correct. Both the tie that Daniel Craig wears in Istanbul and the one he wears in the magazine picture above in fact, have the same "star" or "check" pattern but are different colors. If you have any doubts, I highly suggest that you refer to the "Bond on Set: Filming SKYFALL" book. Additionally: refer to the Christie's auction lot for additional details on the tie's description directly from Tom Ford.
Just had an email from my main contact, Emanuele, at Tom Ford in Milan, and he has sent a photo of all the ties he says are associated with Skyfall. However, our usual suspects are still there, as well, so these could be the ties that TF sent to be considered, not necessarily ones that made the final cut, as it were...Still chasing him on the PTS and 3 colour/Blue London Ties.
After watching Skyfall there are another two ties unaccounted for that could well be one of these:
Shanghai Tie (hard to see this tie in the quick scene)
End of film tie (could be one of these)

After just seeing it for a third time, i also noticed that the tie at the very end is different from the main ones, its much more like a solid grey one with a slight texture, 2nd from the right perhaps? Unfortunately there isn't a very good shot of the Shanghai one.
I've just come back from seeing the film for a second time, and I think that the grey tie on the far left is the one from the final scene. So there may be hope that we can grab at least one screen accurate TF tie, after all!

This is the same tie I found in ATL. It's black and silver with a very slight hint of blue. Nice tie btw...
Kind regards,

That would seem to be it, yes
Interesting seeing this tie with the colours reversed from the Istanbul colours.
