Agree. The more I watch QoS the more I love it. License To Kill is my favourite film, and QoS is very close to Dalton's classic, which is the way I like my Bond
The two darkest Bond films flawed but the ones i go back to more and more. Bond just really showing his nasty side is always a great thing but die hard Bond fans really don't want Bond this way but i love it when he shows his killer side rather then the suave side which Bronson and Moore did too much off.
The strange thing for me is, that Although I love LTK
I just can't warm to QOS.
Must be Me I guess.
Not just you. It's a train wreck of a film. EON knows it, Craig has admitted it, and overwhelmingly negatively mentioned in Skyfall reviews as 'disappointing.

The defenders and haters of QOS will never agree ) "A Train wreck of a Movie" have you seen Bronson's and Moore's and DAF now they are rubbish. QOS is too dark for some Bond fans. Craig said it was flawed and critics are not alway right.

I see them as companion pieces of a sort.
QOS is, btw, Daniel's finest Bond film so far. It's just so different and out there.
And in the future, it will, like LTK, gain respect. -{
I liked Quantum of Solace. I remember talking about it in high spirits to most people around the time when it came out. Me and my friends all enjoyed it and we still do. I watch it pretty much just as regularly as I watch any other Bond film and enjoy it every time I do.
Well, it's one of my favs and it DID take a sh!t load of money at the box-office.....so MANY people must have liked it also -{
Of course you are right, but I felt that Chrisiall was really getting at was the approval of the majority of the fanbase, and critical opinion and not cold hard cash. I was struck by how many Skyfall reviews started with or included a side swipe at the 'disappointing QOS' And it's undeniably got it's supporters here and on other Fora. But as this is a question about the future we'll have to wait and see.
I catch bits of it when its being broadcast to see Craigs performance and certain scenes, but I can't watch it all the way through. The whole film is too dour for me and the whole hoarding Bolivian water and the main villain too weak. The action editing is really bad and confusing.
The more I watch it, the more I like it tbh. Having said that, the weakness of & lack of menace to the villain, as well as the poorish storyline make me wish that it had been done just that bit better. Greene's character should have been developed more, to show true malice and nastiness, possibly with a more realistic storyline as to what he was up to.
Still think DC is very, very good in it and I actually love the PTS chase. Bond is very well styled in it and the interaction with Mathis was excellent, with some interesting locations used.
What the hell is "left wing dribble", and what does it have to do with QOS???
That's an easy one, any time you depict big business in bed with government doing something that is not in the public's best interests, someone is going to take it as 'leftist' propaganda. Pshhhht. I guess I should take Bond movies in general as right wing dribble, eh? But I don't.

It is actually an extension of Casino Royale. I watch them together as one long movie and enjoy it very much. I don't get all the negativity.
Let me count the ways:
1. Left wing dribble, as opposed to psychodribble in "Skyfall"
2. Not really a Bond movie, Bourne ripoff
3. Horrible dialogue e.g "You don't look like a Geologist"
4. Bad directing
5. Bad acting
6. The inexplicable attempted rape scene at the end of the movie.
What you don't like PLENTY of others did...hence the box office takings...these 'excuses for reasons' are just a poor smokescreen for a film you didn't understand...
I'd love to hear you expand on reason six....if you can... -{
I find it bizarre how DCs films get heavily scrutinised for plot flaws, acting etc however compared to previous Films, Brosnan etc they are certainly an improvement in these departments. .
E.g "DC films are too serious" followed by "unrealistic huge plot hole".
Because EON Productions made a big deal about it being better than "CASINO ROYALE" and many decided that it wasn't. I feel that "QUANTUM OF SOLACE" is a pretty good movie in its own right. However, I also feel that it became a victim of overexpectations.
And despite the claims after "CASINO ROYALE", many fans decided that they didn't want Bond to deal with consequences of Vesper Lynd's death.

QoS is a great film and a great Bond film - one of the best. I've never understood all of the negativity surrounding it. In time it'll been seen as OHMSS was later seen as, after all of the critics and commentators are no longer here!
"The tough man of the world. The Secret Agent. The man who was only a silhouette." - Ian Fleming, Moonraker (1955).

i agree, i prefer quantum to some other bond films
Nothing to add really except the terrible cheese factor of the Fields covered in Oil scene.
I always hated this scene. It was so tacky. Putting a scene like that in DAD or a similar anniversary type film I get but in QoS it just looked like they had run out if ideas.
I agree that such an obvious reference would have been better suited for an anniversary type.
However, one reason I enjoy QoS so much is subtle, maybe even unintentional, references to other Bond films
*Dr No - Camille telling Bond her backstory the same way that Honey Ryder did.
*Goldfinger- Bond girl out for revenge for killing family member. Bond accidentally spoils assassination attempt.
Miss Fields covered in oil on the bed is obvious reference to Goldfinger.
*YOLT- Camille drives up and saves Bond the same way Aki did at Osato Chemicals.
*LALD- Boat chase / battle
*TSWLM- The way Bond sends a henchman off a roof similar to Roger swatting his tie away.
Bond & Girl walking across the desert in formal evening ware.
* MR - Freefall sequence from airplane.
* FYEO - Bond girl out for revenge. Similar to Goldfinger.
*AVTAK - The combination of horse racing and Bond running thru a mineshaft.
*TLD - The DC-3 with the cargo nets and supplies falling out the back reminded me of the Necros fight.
*LTK - Bond going rogue/out for revenge.
*TND - The dogfight reminded me of the PTS.
*TWINE - Bond throwing someone in a dumpster.
*DAD - Green's charity party similar to Graves' Icarus party.
My current 10 favorite:
1. GE 2. MR 3. OP 4. TMWTGG 5. TSWLM 6. TND 7. TWINE 8.DN 9. GF 10. AVTAK

5 Reasons I like QoS:
1. Craig deliver's a near-perfect version of Fleming's Bond.
2. Olga Kurylenko is a total babe. So is Gemma Arterton.
3. The opening car chase is so intense I almost fall out of my chair bracing myself for impact.
4. Bond doesn't get the girl at the end. Fleming would have approved I think.
5. Fast-paced, hard-edged thriller, but still feels like a classic Bond movie.
