The first proto sample is finished... they are still looking for similar buttons, so they used only available buttons at their factory because it was just for a draft sample, the garment has not been washed and will fade after a garment wash process, the sample here is using the material that has not been finally revised, but that is coming. GREAT NEWS THOUGH,Hart has met with them and the pattern is now perfect. So basically from this sample, the buttons will change to a more familiar color, the blue will become lighter after the wash and the patterns have been revised meaning no pattern defects. If you see grey on the collar it was due to a miscommunication but the next sample and final ones will not have the grey in the collar area.

Just as a basic question (and not to come across as rude), but will the final version's collar size be reduced to a more contemporary size as the original?

Otherwise, it looks pretty spot on.

Thanks Mantis and Hart for all the work.

yep.....the choices will be in standard adult sizes and not for bitty boys...

Mantis, will the grey lining on the sleeves' cuffs be removed too?
  • The Bond ExperienceThe Bond Experience Newtown, PAPosts: 5,490Quartermasters
Yes. It will be screen color correct.

At first thank you Hart and David for this great project and your good job.

But one question, because the replica shirt looks a little baggy at the above picture. Will the shirt also be a slim cut like the Zara shirt?
  • The Bond ExperienceThe Bond Experience Newtown, PAPosts: 5,490Quartermasters
It will be what's considered fitted versus classic fit. So yes.

I'm thinking you might have misread my post (789)
I was referring to the size of the collar, and not the garment itself.
The original has a very casual collar, while the replica shown has a very moderate spread dress shirt type collar.
I was more asking if this was going to be corrected on the actual run or not.

Hi all, I've been a long and frequent visitor to AJB but this thread has finally inspired me to leave my first post!

Definitely interested in picking up a large of the reissue (provided they run true to size).

Also just want to thank both David and Hart for all the effort they've put in to get this initiative off the ground. Its guys like you that make AJB the site it is.

    Looking forward to further details once the shirt is ready! -{
Be careful what you wish for...

Hey guys, we are a step closer to the ED Shirt -{ Thanks to Dave.
Now is the time that I kindly request those that are interested to please provide payment {:) .
As this is a pre order project I will need to pay upfront for the material to be produced. and Once i have made payment for the material, it will take 3-4 weeks to be printed and produced, usually it takes a little faster but because of Christmas approaching, this vendor of ours has many projects so they are asking for me to be a little patient. Once the material is produced I will then send the material to the Tailor Team.

Tailoring will take 2 weeks for around 200ish shirts, so that’s 1 and a half months from payment up front (assuming all have paid) until the Enjoying Death shirt is at your door, tailoring will come in sizes S, M , L, Xl , XXL – the original Zara shirt I consider that to be XS. A sizing chart will be posted once I get the chart from the tailors. At the moment the main thing is to get the material produced first as holidays are coming soon here in Asia (Idul fitri)

I wanted to pay with my own money, but it is a little too much for me to handle alone.
As this is a pre-order system, once production is done, it will be a little hard to request additional pieces…however I have planned an extra 10 shirts (sizes still pending) for just in case scenario’s and for those who are not in the AJB forum and maybe interested. As from the Orbis cuff experience usually after purchasing what I found with the cuffs are that many people want to buy again. I will also try my best to have a little stock of the material for backup in case somebody tears their shirt or needs patches – but again this will only depend on the leftover material that is available.

The price of the shirt will be USD 155 shipping included
I apologize for the price, but shipping, and producing material from scratch is pricey as we are doing it in small amounts. It took a lot of negotiations to convince them into producing this material – as they usually produce in the thousands

Please send me via email with the subject " ED Shirt order" with your:
    1. Full name
    2. Address (complete with Postcode, and country –just as you would write it at the post office )
    3. Phone number (UPS and delivery services need this to make sure your shirt arrives to you)
    4. Size of shirt (can wait at the moment – but you can roughly provide your size and adjust later for when the size chart is available)
    5. Quantity of shirt

Please pay between the period of 1st - 6th August 2013 (that way it will be easier to track on Paypal too)
PLEASE send payment as "GIFT" to avoid additional fee's (Thank you Don P)

    Need additional advice:
Does anybody know how to avoid those fee’s from Paypal? I receive a payment of 85USD and they seem to take 2-4USD – is there anyway to be not be charged by them?

Build the fees into the final price.

Gift = no dispute and not safe for buyers (this is in general, not aimed at Hart)

    Sign!

Take an extra charge of five dollars per shirt (USD 160 per shirt) and there is still a fair price.

    Hart,

been trolling this thread for months now. How is the sizing going to work? I read somewhere that it wont be a youth-sized shirt, but more appropriate for blokes in their 30s with a bit of a beer gut (i.e., me).

I am not sure if I want an L or XL. I measure 17" neck, 17 sleeve, 43 chest

    Thanks

    EDIT: sleeve is usually 34-35
