Hey guys, all will get the shorts at the same time... Only 8 people will get earlier cause the stock of the shorts dont suffice the size. And i think i can save myself some bucks by giving the shirts to my sister that is going to be in london next week. Basically i will get the additional shorts asap and sent to you all. Its not a matter of who ordered first or not .... All of u ordered before the closing period and placed trust in me so all are priority. but more making sure u have the correct size. I will autonatically upsize for u so all customers do not need to reconfirm size with me. If at first u ordered an m then u will receive an xl simple as that. No need further confirmation from buyers ... Just your additional patience tahts all.

I'll need to measure myself Hart-according to the other guys who ordered a L, a XXL which is what you would send me, was too big for them, so if you can wait until I measure before sending me a XXL in case it's too big. Should get a chance to measure later after I get home from work.
Thanks for the update Hart and not to mention your continued sterling efforts with this.
I know I posted yesterday to say I'd take an XL (when really with the new sizing I would be in line for a XXL) but if it makes things easier for you and frees up an XL/medium for someone else, I'll gladly stick with the XXL. If it's too big, I'll then get it tailored later on.
Hope this helps you out and thanks again!

What is the timeline on this? It's taken about a year thus far, and on the one hand we do have the pattern drawn up, but on the other, in my experience vendors who are working for free as these tailors will be are unlikely to prioritise the project. I don't mean to sound negative but I think a realistic timeline would be welcome, especially as the summer is approaching.
Who said an XXL was too large for you? Only I and one other person received shirts...
I think chriscollins said that looking at the new size shirt XXL would be too large for him, as he chose a large (like me) originally. I will need to look at the new size chart posted, but if it's from a different tailor from the one who will be actually tailoring the shirts (or have I got that wrong too-I had just woken up when I was reading it) it might be a bad idea to base measurements on that?
I do agree with Ward as well, I appreciate all of Leonard's and David's efforts, and I know Leonard in particular has had a lot going on between floods and new children, but a realistic timeframe might be a good idea.
It's NOT a new size chart....it is the old size chart and has no connection to the final shirts, it would seem....that's why Hart is telling people that he is planning on sizing up proportionally....but I suggest you connect with him on email if you are concerned...
I expected to wait longer for my special made 3XL anyway, so don't worry about my patience, as long as it fits in the end. From what I read here, you'll probably have to make mine a 5XL. (I suggest using numbers, XXXXXL looks awful, doesn't it?)
But did they not provide the original sizing chart??? Where did those measurements come from that were not followed?
I think for us bigger guys you need to reconfirm the actual measurements before we choose another size. Otherwise it could happen again.
In fact maybe remeasure the finished shirt sizes may be good idea for the other guys too for reassurance as it all seems vague
I agree, I'm a bit concerned that this will repeat itself. I can't believe I will now be an XXXL fit, I'm not an XL even in the present Zara youth shirts, yet on the last size chart I was a XL
These new sizes aren't even made yet, so we won't know the sizing until after the post wash which in turn could alter the sizing further.
And can you have them leave the Xs of the final shirt! :-D
Cheers for all the work guys
I have not ordered one of these shirts and I'm not part of the project, but I would just like to say how impressed I am by the general sense of patience and understanding surrounding it on these boards. If ever there was any proof of what a great community AJB is, it's this project. After such a long wait, anyone would be forgiven for being exasperated by this trip at the last hurdle, and yet there's such a great sense of understanding here. Truly impressive and I'm proud to be part of such a community.
Now let me find another thread with some insults and profanity on it to restore my sense of normality. :v

I wouldn't worry too much about the semantics, it's just that the sizes we wear are called something else by asian manufacturers, they're still the same size just a different name.
Hi everyone, I got my ED shirt today so here are pics and my thoughts. Firstly thanks to Hart for his hard work to make this happen. I originally ordered a M, but with the change received an XL.
The positives: Overall the colour and pattern are great, and the look is spot on. Cloth is soft and comfortable to wear.
The negatives are to do with sizing and some of the finishings. Nothing that can't be fixed by tailoring or rolling up the sleeves (more on this in a sec)
Sizing of my XL is off, with the measurements kind of all over the place:
Chest 53cm / 21"
Back length 82cm / 32" (I'll need to get the body length tailored shorter as it hangs lower than my bum, so too long)
Shoulder to sleeve 71cm / 28" (again too long but not an issue when rolling up the sleeves)
Shoulder to shoulder 48cm / 19"
The seam finishing could be better as there were lots of loose threads on every seam. But easily fixed with scissors.
The big mistake (see last 2 pictures) is that the sleeve placket has been put on the wrong side of the sleeve. All sleeve plackets should be on the back of the sleeve, this one has been created on the front!
In the last 2 photos I've compared it to another shirt to show what I mean. If you're rolling up the sleeves this hides the problem, but to me this is a bad mistake by the manufacturer, for such a basic design of any shirt.
Overall I will definitely get good use of this shirt and will have to just ignore the minor issues. Thanks again to Hart for co-ordinating this.
Maybe the mistakes can be fixed for the next batch
Were you on an initial list with David to get yours earlier? Or would this be one of the first to be sent out en masse?
I am based in London and hart had a relative visiting on the weekend who brought some over. Hence i avoided the mailing time. I was just part of the normal order
Finally received my ED shirt today after Hart kindly arranged for it to be delivered to London personally by a relative. I originally ordered a size L, but after the sizing recalibration received the equivalent XXL. Unfortunately however the fit isn't right for my frame
Rather than let it go to waste, I thought I would offer it to any AJBers who missed out on the limited run.
In recognition of the collective effort it took to get this project over the line and in particular the hard work put in by Hart, Mantis, I am happy to let it find a new home for £75 + postage (I paid £118 all in).
can Hart please tell me what size i will be getting and when??
i originally ordered a small and the size for small on his origional chart were correct for my frame...
will my shirt be this size .. i don't mean to moan either but cant one shirt from each size be measured and posted up?

I too received my shirt today , firstly wow it's brilliant in colour and SA material.
I've somehow ended up with a XXL , when I'm a off the peg M and decided to order a L just in case and then requested a XL. Oh well )
Having my adjusted and then it will be bang on.
You won't be disappointed and Harte still deserves I think our huge thanks for taking this on. -{
Received mine today, like everyone else really appreciate the hard work Hart has put in to this, but I've ended up with a XXL and its kinda ok across the shoulders, but way too long in the body and arms so not wearable at present.
Yep, received my XL today too - fine across the chest and waist for me. Will get the body shortened and decide about the sleeves, if I think I'm ever going to wear the sleeves un-rolled.
There are a few loose threads to tidy up, but overall, the material, colour and wash looks really good - credit to Hart! -{

Having my XXL adjusted as now on reflection it's just way too long and needs darts in the back as it fits too baggy.
If any of you bigger guys want to swap your XL for it , email me straight away.
I'll gladly pay the postage , UK only.

On Mantis' provided photos, his sleeve plackets look to be correctly in the back of the sleeve.
Could be. I may be the lucky one!
We'll see when the others get theirs
