Airline Detective (Ian Fleming Intro)

I just finished the book "Airline Detective" by Donald Fish. The book was written in 1962 and includes an interesting introduction by Ian Fleming. The book reads like a memoir of Fish's, who was the head of security for the B.O.A.C. airline throughout the 1950's.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys the "feel" of Fleming writing during this period. The one thing that surprised me was how much corruption there was, a lot of airline employees were smuggling even in the 1950's!

:o According to a review on amazon, Fish was a pseudonym of John Pearson, who went on to be Fleming's biographer.

Just recently bought this book on Amazon - certainly looks like a good read alright!

What did you think? Can you see some of the influences on Fleming's Bond?
