10 – The Theme Song (a guilty pleasure of mine. at least it tried something different)
9 – Toby Stephen’s Acting (he played the part of an annoying asshole really well)
8 – The Dialogue (the series has always had corny innuendo dialogue)
7 – Jinx (really? she's sexy, strong, independent and kicks ass)
6 – Falco (had a brief role. didn't stand out either way to me)
5 – Madonna’s Cameo (agree, but dont see how it ruins the movie either)
4 – Mr Kil and Vladimir Popov (Miranda was the hench"man". Those guys were just small-time foes.)
3 – The Invisible Car (bond has always been known for over the top gadgets and this one takes the cake)
2 – The Martix-Esque Slow-Motion Sequences (they were kinda funny, and not overused.)
1 – The CGI (i'll agree on the parasailing scene but the others didnt bother me)

These are my main issues with DAD:

1. Jinx and her god awful dialog of one-liners. She doesn't have a single line of sincere dialog.

2. The invisible car. I like the SEE the new Aston Martin.

3. The Virtual Reality sequences. I'm surprised more fans haven't mentioned these awful disruptions. Plus, I don't want to see dead Moneypenny even if it's not real.

4. The CGI surfing. Hilariously bad and totally unnecessary chase sequence with Bond escaping to nowhere.

5. The laser machine fight with Jinx and Mr. Kil. Embarrassing. Moronic. Worst possible homage to the famous Goldfinger laser scene.

6. Graves cheesy battle armor and his electrifying touch. Does he think he's the Emperor in Star Wars?

7. It's strange how Bond movies have such a strong preference for a white male as the main villain. DAD went so far as to incorporate that weird DNA restructuring to turn the Korean back into a caucasian.


Overall, DAD certainly deserves to be the worst Bond film and has earned every bit of criticism. However, it has many strong points as well which I have mentioned in other threads. I would award it a solid 5 out of 10 stars.

To be honest the only scenes which pass muster is the Cuba scenes.

The rest is cack.

I honestly thought if the Bonds were going in this direction - I was jumping ship

Okay, I happened to catch DAD last night on the TV, watching it casually from the laser scuffle with Mr Kil through to the end. I already knew that I hate the CGI'd parasailing scene, but that aside I settled down to a fairly mindless appreciation of the film's numerous re-workings of Bondian situations and its pacey, visual spectacle - and I found myself enjoying it. For me, being a Bond fan means liking all of the movies!
