As a fan of classic films, I found these two pieces both interesting and depressing. In a nutshell, they deal with the inability of young, hip, wannabe sophisticates to appreciate films such as FRWL and 'Singing in the Rain.'

    I love Metropolis, the 1939 Flash Gordon, North By Northwest, Thunderball, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Sting, 48 Hrs, The Matrix, Serenity- 'sophistication' is an artificial mentality that is used by folks to be able to feel superiour to something.

    Maybe I'm late with this, but I just picked up the Life magazine 50 Years of James Bond issue. Definitely a collector's item!
