Interesting, the Tom Ford one has not been found yet (or have I missed something) and Magnoli releases his version of the tie basing on the hi-res pictures...

Well we don't Know if he based it off the photos or not. Magnoli is a tailor business and known for replicas so maybe he found out info before we did regarding the tie. Or maybe he has eagle vision and knows how to construct this tie based off of photos...
    Shocking...

    Great initiative by Magnoli.

While TF are sleeping in their luxious, well-fed bunks obfuscating and misrepresenting, Indy swoops!

Though wait until the tailoring and fashion experts on AJB dive in and tell us Indy is short on quality compared with Ford... 8-)

Well they really are. I had a few Magnoli and I sold them. Although it's a good alternative. But I would rather get something from Tom Ford that's close enough.

Although I commend Indy for his efforts and giving us cheap alternatives etc I must say there is a considerable diff, I have about 4 of Indys QoS ties but since found some of the real ones and the material, colour and to some extent the pattern is quite diff.

Great and fast work by Indy on the Istanbul tie!

I have some Bond Ties of Magnoli and I'am very satisfied with them! They're a good alternatives like toutbrun said and pretty close to the originals.
Suprisingly that Magnoli produced this one so quick. This time we're all well-prepared.
Ordered my Istanbul Tie! Looking forward to wear it with my grey suit :)

The only direct "hand in hand" comparison I have of Indy's ties and the TF original is the so-called "Green Party" tie whose pattern is spot-on, though I guess the Costume Card was readily available so that would have been easy. On the others, i cannot comment.

But anyone who expects a £40 tie to be of the same quality as a £200-£300 is clearly deluded. Then again, I wonder if the "quality" of the TF originals is worth that (and I've got 'em all)... :o

After that last point, I await the arrival on cue of the AJB fashion-Nazis...

In my opinion the only tie worth paying 200+ is the one he wears with the charcoal pinstripe suit. Glad Indy made this one.

Well to be fair Tom Ford ties are around £130 (even the QoS at original retail) they only go for more via sellers because of 007 and they were limited (collectors items)

The Bolivia pattern is a bit off and you dont get that cool unique reflective kinda thing going on with Magnolis that DC gets in the film (where the tie can look diff at various angles)

Great Magnoli does this, if he could upgrade the quality of material they really would be something!!!

I know the new "James Bond" branded SKYFALL ones seem to be - and they have nowt to do with the bloody film!

But the QOS ones? In TF concessions and stores? Are you sure they were that cheap? I must have been ripped off...

And it can't have been because they were QOS ties - because a TF salesman wouldn't have a bloody clue what they were. :o :))

Tie deals were selling Kazan, PTS, London tie etc in their regular $160 odd price range, they were selling them for a while back then (they were part of the range as normal and they didnt have a clue of the 007 connection). Didnt last long when people from here spotted them ;)

Foolishly, I bought mine actually from TF at their retail price from late 2008 into 2009. ;%

Is Magnoli's PTS tie a printed pattern or woven design? Printing the pattern would be easy, but I suspect the real tie is a jacquard pattern.

Not sure if that is just a mockup but it looks printed (Magnoli), the TF is def woven, you can see the detail on the high res Omega pic

Not compared the "Greene Party" ties?

Indy seem to have got that spot on, and as I said above, that could be much to do with the availability of the Costume Card.

I have not seen the Greene Party Tie by Tom Ford (it seems to be rarer then the others maybe??)

    I have the Magnoli version.

The Tom Ford ties seem to be quite "shiny" / "Glossy". Overall I would say thats the main difference of Indys QoS ties which i guess comes down to the quality of the silk however I'm no expert.

I have been meaning to buy his Montenegro tie since it is unobtainable. I think it fair to say nobody really knows who made it, I know people swear by Ted Baker but others say Brioni etc but since nobody claims they own it I guess we will never know

I own all magnoli Bond ties, and several Tom fords( not bond) .
The quality of the magnoli ties a good for the price, but of course the silk of the Tom fords are much better. But they worth the price.

Just come across this brilliant fan rewrite of Quantum of Solace! Not all brilliant, but would have made the film a HELL of a lot better.

Magnoli also tweaked the design and created a 2.0 version of his Bolivia tie. I have the first edition one & was planning to pick up the re-design, but I was lucky enough to find the original Tom Ford tie at an outlet. There are definitely differences between Magnoli's replicas & the originals, but as David Schofield said, it's not fair to expect a $60 tie to be the exact same as a $250 one. IMO, Magnoli's products are close enough for Bond fans on a budget, especially since the originals are almost impossible to track down at a reasonable price.

Welshboy78: Definitely pick up the Montenegro tie when you get a chance. It's my favourite Magnoli tie in my collection. It's beautiful, well made, and ties a gorgeous knot!

I bought the Kazan tie from Magnoli. I bought the black and silver version bc it was $30 instead of $60. I have to say its one of my favorite ties to wear and it's very spot on to the original, IMO. I bought a tie from Charles Tyrwhitt recently it is their woven navy natte tie and it gets the job done for me in replicating the Greene Party tie. I definely am going back to Magnoli to purchase the Hamburg, Thames, and Brosnan ties. To some ppl, they were loud ties, but they are still Bond Ties and I've had my eye on them for a long time overdue...$180 to my future investment.
    Shocking...

i know the Tyrwhitt tie looks NOTHING like the Greene Party tie but its got the same colors, blue and white in there along with Navy. from a distance it gives off that glossy look and compliments my navy or gray suits. charles tyrwhitt is awesome for ties. and here is my Kazan tie. love this tie

Roi the first tie has a completely different pattern.
The second looks close but a bit more blueish than the original one.
