    bugger.

maybe his long suffering mrs could read it to him then?

if donk wrote it, it'd make perfect bedtime reading to send hyperactive markus off to sleep.....

BOOM, two birds with one stone! i'm on fire!!

(countdown to 'singe' and 'one setting one'self' on fire jokes commences)

    now that'll be boring 8-)

    NO. It would be EPIC!!!!

maybe if it was a 'pop up' book it would appeal more to dear bondtoys?

No join the dots or a colouring in book would be more your thing methinks...one dot and one colour perhaps....too hard Micro? :))

Oh sweet, I didn't know you could get "how to guides" on this subject. I've been a self taught one for years! :s

Finally nabbed one of these from Barnes and Nobles...Twenty one of my pics were used and although I am happy they were deemed acceptable to put in the book I am, like MG, a bit surprised now that I know they had access to more accurate versions. I will be the first to admit that many of the pieces (Roger's hairbrush Morse code prop) in my collection are not the most accurate versions out there. Still, a fun read and the thank you area does have some very respectable names from the board. Fun to see them all in one place.

Shame some of photos sent to Gareth weren't used.

It's interesting that they have steered well clear of the real mccoy on the prop front. You'd be amazed (or not?) what was offered to this publication pre-production ;)

    I'm with you John...

It seems to be full of replicas and "likeness's" and I struggle to believe this is the best of the photos offered.

And it can't just be the rather amatuer method by which the researchers sought contributions.

I think it's probably unkind to accuse those behind this thing of cowardice.... We all know how "tense" the issue of screen used props can be... 8-)

All in all a massive missed opportunity - we still await the definitive book on bond.

Thank god for the "designing bond " barbi cat...

Gotta say I agree with everyone's sentiments here. Indeed a huge opportunity missed IMO.

One thing that does stand out is DZ's stance on it. As someone who has quite a few of his images in the book, he could turn round and have the 'I was picked, you wasn't' attitude, but instead dave has stood up and agreed with people's views, which is quite humbling.

What grabbed me is the amount of available, accurately made replicas and original screen used items out there in several people's collections, and these people didn't even get a phone call. Who made these choices and why wasn't the cream of items put into the book? Mind boggling.

Maybe us AJBer's should restore the balance and have our own book published? Now there's a thought....

Agree with you David - mind boggling choices - both hairbrushes and airbrushed :)

I had been really psyched abt this book and wish I'd saved my money

I think there might be a few ugly reviews appearing on amazon :)

Btw I feel the criticism expressed elsewhere implying there was a heavy bias towards "roger" stuff inspite of it bordering on tat, is unfair.

There is plenty of other tat in there. :)

Me talking sense? What's the world coming to? :)) there's a lot of cack and nonsense rattling around up there, but once in a blue moon some sense has been known to present itself :))

Maybe once some major things are taken care of we could all look into this idea?

As for an editor, I'd say I wouldn't know where to start. A foreword by Meg would be good....

Without getting into the quality of content or the missed opportunity of what it could or should have been, the one thing I find interesting from the horses mouth is at least two of the individuals "thanked" on the last page did not actually have ANY of the images they sent in for inclusion included! :s
