Idea for a Bond TV series

What do you think of this?

Title - "Bond : The Early Missions"

Plot : The series is about James Bond's rookie years with MI6, long before he earned his 007 status. The series would also reveal the mission that earned him his "licence to kill" and what went on between him and Miss Moneypenny.

Casting i thought of for this show :

James Bond - Johnathon Rhys Myers
Pamela Moneypenny - Jennifer Lawrence (Yes i made the Pamela name up)
M - David Tennant (M would obviously be a little younger around this time )

I thought it might of been a good idea for a TV series if they used the literary Bond
and used his time in the navy WW2 stuff, Sort of the adventures that made the man.
But don't know how that would fit in with the reboot. :))

Well my idea would actually take place before the Connery films so it would kind have an old school feel to it, plus it would be a breath of fresh air for the fans who dislike Craig.

Guess i wont be getting any replies now thanks to your thread mocking this one. :-/ Thanks a lot
No man, I was just thinking parallel to you, but you were going for the "Young Indy" thing, whereas I was thinking of just rapid fire stories on the telly.
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

Although I could mention ( Again :)) ) the idea of an animated series.
Like the great Batman, graphic novel style and using the Original Fleming
    stories.

No, sorry, Bond can work in novel, graphic novel, and live action. Only. 'Toons are for costumed dudes. No discussion.
    Errr... unless one ensues.... :)

I'd rather have Bond-inspired shows than a Bond show that actually uses the Bond license.

I don't think a James Bond tv show would work unless it had a really good budget.

    Oh, that's a given IMO.
Otherwise it would be like Matt Helm or Flint.

What about a television series that's sort of set in the James Bond universe, but the overarching series storyline follows an entirely different character with an entirely different supporting cast, and then James Bond himself; makes a supporting role, cameo appearance once per season...?

Personally, I think the series might work if you were to mix Burn Notice with the James Bond universe. And maybe throw a little bit of White Collar in there for good measure. -{ ;)

It could work with a very well made TV-series (perhaps HBO) set in the 50's or during WWII. But I think Johnathan Rhys Myers would be wrong. Too old and wrong looks. Someone like Clive Standen or Max Brown are better?

My two choices for Bond number 7 their both only 31 so still be young enough when Craig finishes even if he does do another two. Both are tall slim, athletic and dark and both are good actors as well.
