Among bond fans, what would you predict is the overall popularity order of all 22 EON films?

I'd say popularity wise this is about right, although I think you ranked QOS a bit to high maybe? ?:)

Yeah I thought I'd ranked QOS a little high actually. Maybe it should be lower than LALD. It's hard to say really

There is such a wide variety of 'Bond fans' (casual fans, movie fans, movie/book fans, specific actor fans...) that a scientific survey must be done if you really want to calculate it.
General order can be obtained from Rotten Tomatoes or other sites, but I'll wait for a world wide Bond Fan survey. )

I think the James Bond Film Elimination game in the Trivia forum is a pretty good indication

In that game, the top three is still being decided, but it's between the three films you've listed as the three most popular, so you're spot on in that regard.

I think it is unbelievable that QOS is at the bottom of the Elimination game list. In the first elimination game it ended up being surpisingly high, and in the second one it came stone last! I think it belongs somewhere in the middle.

This thread doesn't really account for the different parts of a fan base, as others mentioned. Casual, hardcore, consistent, etc.

I think the basic answer is probably going to be easiest determined by using IMDb, which has a tracking system for film popularity on the site. Unfortunately it requires an IMDb Pro membership.

The next best option would be the IMDb film user ratings, I think.

There's an age range to this particular forum; so the Connery films will come out ahead, as will the Moore flicks, but less the Brosnan movies bar GE.

Starburst, a recently reissued UK mag, has a poll in its current Bondcentric issue (sold in the movie shop in St Martin's Lane, London, where Lexi doesn't live) which reflects that, though it has LALD as the top Bond.

How about you take all the posts in the ultimate ranking thread and by some magic excel formula (not great with excel) get the average rating of every movie.

You are absolutely correct, Blackleiter. Live And Let Die should be number three on the list.

I'd say Jarvio's list is a fairly accurate reflection of the Bond forums I visit. Whether it is a fairly accurate reflection of Bond fans as a whole is another matter.
