Cheap Replica Walther PPK

I just got an airsoft 'Bond' PPK bb gun from eBay for US $12.99 that included shipping. I was prepared for garbage at this inexpensive price, but it's actually really well made for a toy (mostly metal, strong spring), and more than reasonably accurate, EXCEPT for an imprint of an eagle holding a swastika in its talons on either side of the handle (the actual symbol is not visible on the eBay images). ?:)
Now, why would ANYONE think that's a GOOD idea???
Bottom line: for the insanely cheap price, I can't complain, and a file, some sandpaper & 20 minutes erased the offending bird & its symbol (as well as the standard ugly orange tip necessary for legal sale). A touch of brown paint to the handle, and my cool cheap Bond toy will be complete. My evil cats are quivering with fear! (just kidding)

But does anyone else here have one, or know just why a Nazi symbol would have been included in its production?
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

Glad that you're pleased with your purchase. Sounds good for display purposes.

The reason it would have had the swastika emblem is because the Walther PPK was originally produced at that time and was first issued to Police and SS Officers. The PPK has of course created its own history since that period and I'd have expected a toy to have been produced without it.

Federal law here says this modified replica cannot see the light of day away from my house now, but I gotta say, I'm having so much fun shooting yellow plastic BBs into paper targets it isn't funny. Well, it is, really. I wanted it originally for a static replica, but when I realized the work involved to make it 'perfect' I just opted for a 'pretty good' toy, and it's so much fun. Like being at a fair & shooting the targets WITHOUT paying $3 for every clip! Gotta printout a Blofeld image to fire at!

    I know, I'm such a kid... :))

Cool stuff, proof this replica making game doesn't have to cost a fortune.

Thanks MG, I was aiming for Bond's gun in TLD. A really good one is well beyond my means at this time.

I just ordered one for my collection. I am planing to recreate the PPK as seen in Goldeneye, complete with a mock silencer. If possible I am going to try to make my own silencer.

I got my PPK and fired at the target I have( quite fun when you have nothing else to do), how ever I would like some extra magazines for it. Does anyone have any recomendations?

Do what I did & buy 3, that's the only way to have extra mags for your 'play' gun (I have one I made look great, one to play with & one extra just in case).

Okay first chance I get will do that. Got to more of this model of Walther PPK airsoft gun, thankfully CYMA(the manufacturer) deleted the Nazi logo from the pistol it self. I am working on eventually making this look like James Bond's Walther PPK from The Living Daylights and Licence To Kill at a point in the future.

This one is pretty good. First one I've seen that has the correct color grips and comes with a silencer.

Pretty good for a Mauser copy. Nothing like a PPK though.
