Gunbarrel sequence

in Skyfall - Bond 23 (2012)
Anyone have any updates on Skyfall's gunbarrel sequence? I heard someone mention there were pics of it in the new Bond On Set book, but haven't heard much else.

Did someone else not leak that they were at a test audience screening? Any news from that?

    All I know is: after the Sony and MGM logos I wanna see a Gunbarrel. There is no reason, artistic or whatever else not to have a traditional gun barrel prior to the pre-title sequence and I want them to also have it end in that little circle doohicky that opens up the pre title sequence. Don't mess with me on this EON :s -{ :))

    Completely agree. The gunbarrel before the PTS is a part of bond in my eyes. It wasn't there at all on CR, and was there but only at the end on QOS... so hopefully it's time for it's proper return in Skyfall.

    Plus it's the 50th anniversary... it would be rude NOT TO include it! :007)

    I'm pretty sure it will be there in SF, don't worry. mendes said that Skyfall is classic Bond and will have "Bond elements", and nothing is as Bondian as the gunbarrel

    If its supposed to celebrate the 50th anniversary, there will most likely be a gunbarrell

    Interesting. I wonder if that's the gun barrel they'll use in the movie to? Looks like the same gun barrel used for the Connery-Dalton era.

    I really do hope so. The way it was done in Casino Royale was fresh, interesting and made sense. Putting it at the end of QOS instead of the beginning was not necessary but I suppose they did it because of how the film starts right where CR left off.

    However now I don't feel they have any excuse to not put it at the beginning... so like everyone else has said, I certainly hope so!

    My only hope is that something happens in the editing room between the press screening and the official launch. Fan reaction to this elsewhere is less than positive - chiefly because this is supposed to represent a classic Bond in the 50th year of the franchise.

    If it's not sorted, no matter how good a film Skyfall is, it will be tarnished by yet more meddling with this iconic sequence.

    Recent reviewers who saw SKYFALL on October 12 are saying there is no gun barrel sequence at the start of Skyfall (2012).

    I do not understand why EON continues to insist on messing with the Gunbarrel. I actually understood what they were trying to do with it in CR and QOS (Bond becoming Bond and all that stuff). But "Skyfall" apparently takes place some years after CR and QOS and Bond is a veteran "oo". Why can't they just put the bloody thing where it belongs and stop trying to be all cute and creative with it.

    This is the re-booted Bond franchise. Connery-Brosnan had the gun barrel we all love at the beginning. This is a different franchise now. Let's be glad they kept the gun barrel. They could of retired it.

    I'm not THAT bothered about the opening gunbarrel sequence - perhaps I should be stripped of my Mod status for daring to say so :))

    I was very happy with what they did with it in CR....and I quite liked the idea of having it at the end of QoS - as it showed that 'Bond' had been born...

    I thought they would return to having it back at the beginning of Skyfall...but I'm prepared to wait and see how it's been used this time around before I cast any negativity around...and it CERTAINLY will not spoil the film for me if it isn't at the start...that would be stupid...

    I guessing it might be worked into the opening titles, which might be good.
    Although after Skyfall I like to see it back at the beginning. I still remember
    that feeling sitting in the dark cinema and seeing the gunbarrel cross the
    screen. B-)

    That will be impossible - 35mm prints and DCPs (digital cinema packages) are being produced right now, to be shipped to exhibitors.
