hey everyone ...just glad I came across this forum.
As a newbie all this Bond information in the forum in general is a dream come true. :D

NOW ...I would appreciate some help in purchasing the Charcoal Grey pinstripe suit.
I have found both the Baron Boutique and the Magnoli Clothiers sites.

I do need some help in deciding which site to put the order through.
Baron has the suit at @ $400 and Magnoli at @ $475

The prices are similar and I have decided to go over my budget to get the suit.
This will be the only suit that I will be buying from the suits in Skyfall.

So I need some help determining , quality, material used etc. :)
I would appreciate some feedback from the lads that have bought from either one of these establishments.

    Cheers & Thanks

OH ...one last thing does Bond have cuffs on his pant legs or not?

    Cheers lads

Bond wears cuffs on his suit trousers.
    Shocking...

Hey guys, couldn't resist and had to buy them, ended up getting a good deal on them, they still have a few pairs left as follows 1 pair of size 40, 2x 41, 2x 42 and 4x 44. The guy was really nice and turned out to be a Bond fan so he sold me them for 130euro ( 100pounds!) The fit is excellent, very comfortable and I can see why they will have chosen these kind of boots for the skyfall scene. The quality is awesome and they are made in Italy by a british company called wexford. If anyone wants a pair, I will be passing back through that area on sunday.

don't worry nouniard...serves me right too for not reading the negative feedbacks they had, keep telling me they will get back to me with shipping info...never happens. they got a few days then im going to lodge an ebay/payapl request for refund!
I saw the 99.2% positive feedback and assumed...I immediately sent an message to the seller asking for a tracking number once the sweater was marked as shipped this morning.

Picked up the Shades of Grey jacket which is pretty much a carbon copy of the Barbour, seriously Shades of Grey definitely copied the entire design of the Barbour and besides a few differing features the two are pretty much identical. If your looking for a Barbour alternative then this is as close as you can get.barbp.jpg

    VERY nice-looking alternative.

Zara peacoat with leather piping. I may or may not return it and get the real Billy Reid peacoat. As you can see it doesn't sit too well in the chest area with the lapels popped up. What do you guys think, stick with the Zara for 129 or go for the Reid for the 695?

I bought the actual coat but I saw that one too. It's not a bad coat at all, but I wasn't a huge fan of the piping. It really depends on your taste and your budget. If you like it or can't justify spending close to $700, then you've got your answer. I didn't want to spend $200-$400 on an alternative and only be partially satisfied, so I got the real thing.

    EDIT: Typo

I would just go for the Billy Reid, as Vinnymac stated, if you can justify spending the amount, then why not get the real deal?

Valid points. Plus a peacoat is timeless, hence why it would be the one real jacket out of the 3 Skyfall jackets I would get. Just lucky it's also the cheapest. Only thing holding me back is a leather bomber jacket I've been eyeing for a while but since both are timeless pieces I'll just get them both. Absolutely agree with the partially satisfied. Thanks for the input!

I think if it came down to it, I would go in order of the Barbour first simply because it is a unique piece and because I think it is iconic enough to recognise it, for as much as the billy reid has leather collar and pocket inserts, great stiching...it is a peacoat, there are tons of them that look identical and I doubt many will see it as anything else than a peacoat. The leather jacket is last, I think we are all forgeting that this is a LEVIS jacket, you know the brand that you can pick their jeans up for in a supermarket! The price of that jacket is ridiculous it is a leather jacket for goodness sake...and a Levis one too. We are idiots for paying what we have for It and worse of all is that it even looks like and old leather jacket you have had for about 20 years ...which is probably why they chose it and that's why next year it is going to look like an old leather jacket you should have got rid of a looooong time ago...no matter how much you tell everyone you meet that Daniel craig wears it in Skyfall.

If it's in your budget, go for an original.

By the way alphaagent, I received a reply with a tracking number this morning.

Hey Nouniard, was about to message you. Me too...finally. Did you get the website to track it though?
  • NouniardNouniard U.S.Posts: 59MI6 Agent
It may take a couple of days (transferring from HK Post) but then USPS should be able to track it.

I totally agree with you, the Barbour is the Skyfall jacket much like the tom ford Harrington was for QOS, and that the Levi's jacket small, unmemorable screen time doesn't justify its ridiculous price. Even though the the Billy Reid is just a peacoat, from experience its one that definately catches eyes and envy when worn.

...completely agree about the Levi's jacket. That's why I haven't bought it. I'm not blown away by the Barbour, and I've seen alternatives that are close enough for me. To me, of the three, the Billy Reid is the best coat. There's something nice about wearing a well-shaped, unique peacoat while everyone else is wearing blue or grey wool sacks.

What's the closest alternative to the TF Markos? I didn't mind buying a peacoat, but there's no way that I'd pay $200+ for sunglasses.

Apologies if this has been posted before.

But ...is there any alternatives to the C&J Highbury & Tetbury shoes?
    Cheers & Thanks

Someone recently on here was selling their H&M alternative
    "enjoying death shirt" for £40.
Even though I love it and looks great under my leather jacket I'm going to do the same. I'm raising a few pennies for a new film project. Shirt has only been worn once.
It's a small but fits a medium. I had a medium but exchanged it as it was like a tent!
Best get me on my email which is found on my website (see below)
    Cheers

For good quality sunglasses youre looking at $150 plus. Here are the ones i bought in "light pewter":

yeah, JW88BMW, you cant go cheap and expect a nice pair of shades. $200 for a pair of italian made, quality sunglasses is about what you would expect to pay, if not more.
  • VinnyMacVinnyMac Posts: 246MI6 Agent
I guess that I don't appreciate sunglasses as much as you gents do. $200 wouldn't break the bank, but I can't wrap my mind around paying that much.
