I had an email today from the guy who makes the harrigton jackets on ebay. He has made a great replica of the barbour jacket for $199 aud. It looks great.
That's a pretty solid alternative, but $200? Sure, it's better than the price of the authentic, but it's still a bit much for my taste. Then again, I'm not a huge fan of the Barbour. It's "meeeh" to me.

He said the sample jacket in the picture was brown but the actual production line would be the waxed olive green. Speaking of Magnoli I'm hoping when he reopens for business at the end of Jan he has some cool new stuff.

I read the email wrong thought it said they were gonna be brown.....my bag....even better now the actual jacket will be green.
Hopefully the sizing is better on these, and they have longer sleeves then the QoS jacket. Still, this is a very nice budget alt. jacket.
I agree. I actually emailed the seller about this as I bought one of the Solace jackets and the sleeves were to short, so I had to take it to a tailor to adjust them. He says the sleeve length will be fixed on this jacket to avoid that problem again.
Fingers crossed as I think the photos look good of the sample.
It's got too be said that's a fantastic copy of what will become an iconic part of the bond history,would have loved the real thing but I am not funded by the British government.Just bought a French connection jacket which has the barbour look and I was happy with it until I saw the replica .Bugger I am just going to have to buy another .

You should check in with the seller again as he says the new batch of the Solace jackets fixed the sleeve length. I must have bought one of the first runs with the shorter sleeves, so I've been it touch with him to double check that the lodge jacket will be different.
Here are the measurements for the lodge jacket coming out. I've taken some measurement of existing jackets I have just to check and it looks ok to me. Any comments from anyone else about these measurements and whether they look ok?
BTW I see the DSW Red Tape Cowboy Wingtip boots are out of stock. I was going to order them but with working part-time and my wife's hours getting cut to 25 hours, I put it off. UGH! X-(
