As an aside I want to get magnioli to make me a CR copy of the armani jacket. I was sure that the jacket was dark brown but having recently seen the film again it appears black. Can anyone clarify? Am I right in believing it is goatskin? Has anyone ordered one of these from magnioli? Apologies if these questions are in the wrong place.

I have the Magnoli CR leather jacket. It is a nice dark brown colour. I agree that on screen it looks to be even darker, indeed, almost black. I would say that the Magnoli Jacket is excellent. Nice leather and very well made. You'll love it. It's really good value for money. Just be sure to get your measurements right.

Thanks! Ill get my order in. Did you wait 3 months for it yo be made?

It took a while but I can't remember exactly how long (maybe 7 weeks???) It's worth the wait mate!

I mentioned upthread that I can't tell if the jacket would fit me based on description. If you could post your measurements and two pictures of you wearing the jacket (undone and then zipped up) then I'll be able to tell if it will fit. Otherwise I can't buy it blind...

Here's an article about that jacket with some photos that show it is a dark brown. I thought it was interesting that the Armani jacket was $4000 retail, but for Bond production they charged them 400 euros each for an order of about 25.

If only this forum could get brands to give us that kind of discount. We could get 25 people easy!

Here's a very good alternative to the Church's Ryder III boot. Still a bit pricey, but a very well made boot. The soles are even similar.

Pics of jacket unzipped and zipped. I'm a 41 inch chest about about 5'10".

I doubt that the decision was mainly about order volume. The producers had to have known that by getting the jacket into a Bond movie, they'd be able to attrack suckers -{ who are willing to pay premium prices. I'm sure that we could find 25 people here, but if the jacket wasn't in the movie, we wouldn't even be having this discussion. The fact that they got it into the movie means that thousands of people (not 25) are interested in it.

Thanks very much for posting the pics, that helps a lot. Unfortunately I'll need the next size down which is a shame as you've got such a good price. Which size did you get - the Medium (40" chest) or the Large (42" chest)?

I can't believe no one's snapped up the jacket yet - looks great!

    Gentlemen,

Just to chime in and add that I received the Barbour Stock jacket yesterday and am very happy with it as a more restrained, fair weather alternative to the To Kito original. The fit is slim and quality top notch as you'd expect, I highly recommend.

Currently selling for just over 100 pounds at Barbourbymail.

And that's the beauty of this thread!

The original SA one would be over the top here in London anyway, I can wear the Stock through Spring and on cooler summer days and evenings.

Can't take credit though, someone found it very early on in the Lodge Jacket thread and I bookmarked it then, I saw it was reduced and jumped at the chance!

That's a damn fine alternative. I'm not a huge fan of the lodge jacket, but at that price, I'd consider buying it.

Not sure if this would be classed as a budget alternative to the Lodge Scarf worth a look though

I found an option for enjoying death shirt at Target today. Faded blue denim with white skulls. Not as odd as it sounds though.

With the Sonoma pants being straight fit, I'd think the Kohls pants aren't slim enough.
