Dr nowt that's a really good alternative! Better pockets and a closer shape; pretty darn pricey tho (not as pricey as buying one genuine and one fake like stupid me) but the good thing about barbour is the jackets will last a LONG time... A great alternative if u can afford it!
Just wanted to point to another 'Enjoying Death' shirt alternative that I got today from Debenhams in The Trafford Centre. I was just about to buy a Red Herring shirt that was similar to a Primark shirt someone posted in this thread, when I saw this:
Jon that m&s jumper looks good; wouldn't say it's strictly the same teal colour as the bond one but to be fair it's a better everyday colour (teal is a bit metrosexual unless you're a double-hard double 'o') so will look good without the jacket. I got this barbour yesterday: http://www.dealclick.co.uk/product/13580913/Joe-Casely-Hayford-for-John-Lewis-Wax-Cotton-Jacket,-Olive,-XL.html and I love it more than I've ever loved a human! Again not a match for the lodge jacket but its short and fitted and distinctly British
Thanks Octo am really struggling to find an exact colour
I found a good alternative for the lodge jumper -
It was the right teal colour and made by James Pringle. I picked it up for £10 in the sale at EWM. I find all their stuff to be very good quality and they offer decent sizes - the small fit me, even though I'm usually a medium. I went for a medium just to be on the safe side.
Not exactly budget version of enjoying death shirt ... I've picked up a few different ones but this is my favourite so far. Joe browns has a web page in UK or also available from debehams.
Ok, so don't laugh. Anyone have any good, budget, CLIP-ON (or pre-tied) alternatives to the Skyfall bow tie? I work as a musician and want one that I can take on and off fast. I think the main feature is that it should have the striped pattern as on the Tom Ford below.

Would like veterans to weigh in on the available bespoke suits out there - thoughts on Knot Standard? Is Magnoli a better bespoke bet? Other alternatives I'm not aware of?
TO get a good pre-tied bow ,the knot ie the band that attaches the 2 papilons (butterflies)should have a kink
in it as it is impossible to tie a bow tie without a kink in the knot so the eagle eyed of us can spot a fake
miles away,If there is a Geives and Hawkes in Manhattan (there should be by now) i would pop along
to them, as for the pattern on the bow the rule of thumb is that your bow should match your lapels
But i would learn to tie it your self you cant beat it,just remember the trick is to tie it like your shoe laces
its that simple

Thanks for the tip on the sweater. I think I once bought a Pringle Scotland rugby shirt or golf sweater -- or both. Orders, another 10 quid shipping to the USA, but they do take the VAT of 2.50 off.
Hey jon_1uk, nice to see my advice doesn't fall on deaf ears!
Glad that you were able to pick one of the sweaters up. In my opinion, one of the best alternatives out there, and like you say, the sleeves can be rolled back if you so wish!
just picked up the broken-in Khaki's from Old Navy thanks to DZ's video, and i compared to my SA (as screen accurate as we can get) Topman chinos and the color is almost exactly the same, they are a great alternative for the Topman pants and i like the fit of them better. And you definitely have to size down for the Old Navy pants, im usually a 32X34 but got them in 28X30.
Old Navy Khaki's on left, Topman chino's on right.
Great work! Now, I have to question if it would be better to get the Old Navy, or spend a little more for the J Crew chino. Thanks for the side-by-side comparisons!
Fantastic! I'm New York based and we have a Topman store here. Planning on checking things out on Tuesday. Hell, if I don't like the fit maybe I'll just go for these.

For sale. I've owned this a month and now about to order a menlo , cracking replica , size small (true to size) real sheepskin leather , well made with golden lining. 2 inner pockets and the adjusting buckles (pictured).
If I wasn't buying the menlo , I honestly wouldn't be selling. Cracking replica skyfall jacket!!!!! Thought I'd offer it out to the bond community before posting on ebay. Cheers fellas
IIRC my pair was on sale for $140 and the quality is quite good. Not the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever worn but quite good for dress shoes and they still look really good after 5 years.
This style of shoe is much more common now than it was 5 years ago, most high street shops carry their own version of it.
Anybody have an alternative to the Tetbury black boot?
I've been using the Johnston & Murphy Suffolk boot as my budget alternative. They're very comfortable and definitely look the part. As an added bonus, they are also waterproof, which comes in handy on wet winter days. Worth every penny, in my opinion.

Since I couldn't find the H&M 'alternative' anywhere I bought this one - £40.
Wrong thread I know, but M&S have just brought out a QoS-like Harrington jacket cheaper than most good quality alternatives I've seen:
http://www.marksandspencer.com/Autograph-Pure-Cotton-Harrington-Jacket/dp/B00AZC0102?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_7&nodeId=201246031&sr=1-7&qid=1361642759&pf_rd_r=0DAX1FEYSNB6TE99ZB3M&pf_rd_m=A2BO0OYVBKIQJM&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=201246031&pf_rd_p=321381387&pf_rd_s=related-items-3
So I got that too. Not too sure about the buttons on this, but it doesn't have the loud tartan lining - £55
Cheers
nice... i take it the correct frame colour to be sa is Havana ?
yeah it appears so.

Here, look: http://www.ewm.co.uk/fine-knit-jumper-crew.html
(it's the colour called "Aqua")
It even has ribbed sleeves that you can fold back just like the N Peal.

I bought a nearly identical pair from Browns a few years back but it looks like they don't carry that style anymore. This is the closest they have:
