Another suggestion for cords for those in Canada.

Went to the Harry Rosen outlet and got a pair of Gant cords. They are $50 each or 2 pairs of selected casual pants for $75+ tax

They are slim fitting and dark dark brown in colour

    Colour looks bang on!

It looks a little more brown in person but I thought it was pretty close

@Drugtest: I got luck since I just checked, these are Winter 2011! pants, so I hope you can find them online as i am not sure I saw 32 at the store....

As many have pointed out, there are many other dark brown cords out there...

    Good luck!

First, I want to thank The Mantis/David Zaritsky for his videos, posts, site, and everything he's given to the community. My life is changing in interesting ways because of it. I have a couple Bond related sites, but I hope that they never interfere with people using his site first. http://thebondexperience.com

David, without you I would have never discovered JamesBondLifestyle, Paul Kyriazi, or BeingJamesBond.

I hope it's not "bad form" to post a couple links to my own site in my first post but I just thought I'd add my 2 cents.

I've done a lot of my own rummaging (HOURS UPON HOURS) to find quality but cost effective items in Amazon.

I'm currently working on a Bond Haiti post (NOT EASY!)

Managed to achieve the lodge scene on a rather slim budget seeing as I had some of the items in my wardrobe already. The jacket is a barbour bedale, and the scarf is from river island. The only item I had to purchase to complete the look, is the jumper which came from marks & spencer at around £15. More of a look inspired by tyhe lodge scene rather than a straight copy. Had to get my rolex sub on a nato strap in as I think it beats the omega everytime :) :)

Still enjoy dressing up at 32.....is that wrong ????? :))

    Friends,
with summer just a few months away, can anyone recommend a close-enough for the Tom Ford Markos?

    Ward,
There is no sub for the TF Markos! But if you are in fact from the U.K. London, pick them up on U.S. ebay and save a bundle! B-)

Definitely no substitute for the Tom Ford originals, was just curious per the thread title if anyone has ID'd a close-enough. There are a lot of aviators with blue lenses available, which even had a similar "double" nose bridge, but the lenses are normally a richer, darker blue and create a very different effect.

That's probably the best that you're going to get. A lot of the Bond items have a specific, unusual characteristic that you probably won't find UNLESS you shell out the cash for the real item. I've seen aviator glasses with blue lenses, but generally, the double bridge is too thin, curved in the wrong way OR (most often) it's not attached smoothly to the lens frames. Usually the bridge sits on top of the frames instead of running into them.

It's not going to be screen accurate unless you pay for the screen accurate item, but if you simply want a pair of blue aviators because you like how they looked in the movie, then they aren't hard to find.

I'm wondering if there's a middle ground between the real thing, and just-a-pair-of-blue-lensed-aviators! :))

The bond community has done a great job so far ID'ing some excellent alternatives in this thread. I may well end up with a pair of real Marko's, but I should prefer a more affordable alternative in the mean time.

As has been pointed out here accessories maketh the look - you can find alternative for the clothing but if you do the real accessories make the look closer to SA :007)

I bought the Markos and they are worth every penny. If you intend to get them save your pennies and get them to buy a cheaper pair just robs you from reaching that end goal - trust me I have been there (I bought several Barbours before I sold them and bough the damn lodge jacket I really wanted!)

If you really want a pair of sun glasses in teh mean time then any silver framed aviators with proer UV protection will do lest face it who will know anyway?

    Good luck

    Cheers

I hear you, but from what I've seen, the best that you'll get is a basic pair of blue aviators with a double bridge. Once you get to a certain point, they all look pretty similar.

This is the exact model that I described in my previous post. Do you see how the bridge doesn't run directly into the lens frames? It sits on top of it. If you just want glasses that remind you of the TF's then that's probably the best that you'll get. There's not a REALLY close replica for those.

I'm not surprised. Similar in a lot of ways to the Indiana Jones jacket, which is one of their specialties.

I know this shirt has short sleeves, but when I saw it I thought of the "Enjoying Death" shirt. It's at Marshalls for $15, made by Soveriegn Code.
