I'm a 20 year old bond fan from Switzerland and obviously need to go for budget alternatives. Anyway here's my first post. I have put together some budget alternatives or combined them with the originals (PTI jacket, topman chinos).

I also combined the sort of Skyfall lodge outfit with other Barbour models and I think it goes really well.

I'm still looking for a good alternative to the lodge sweater in merino wool (in the US). Seems like all of them are either too green or too blue. Getting that exact color is really difficult to find! :#

I just got this pea coat as an alternative to the Billy Reid. It is pretty close in the details. I prefer this style collar over the peak lapels. The collar is not as wide as a standard pea coat you would find at most stores. I got it in a small, which is probably similar in size to the medium BR coat. They usually have discount codes you can find online as well.

Thanks for this! I just got a midnight blue tux for new year's and that Citizen watch could be the final touch I've been looking for. Can you post a photo with it on?

Havent had any issues and ive always been told citizen makes a great watch. For $80 i cant complain. Its a good, cheap alternative.

To those of you in London, I was at Ben Sherman in Covent Garden and spotted this navy wool pea coat on sale for £200 that is pretty close. It has two pockets with flaps, and above them two hand warmer pockets

It even has (black) leather under the collar. It also has a shorter collar that other pea coats, more similar to the BR original.

So here is my budget take on the lodge outfit.

Jacket is a barbour like one from Old Navy. Really happy about this one. I think it was a return as it was the only one there. $22 down from $59 on sale.

Sweater is Old Navy also. V neck but color is pretty good $8 on sale.

Pants are from target. 17.99 on clearance.

    Scarf from Zara. About $20

Boots are the Johnston and Murphy hattington.

Very happy with this but it will be much better once I get the real coat in Feb (or hopefully sooner).

And here is no jacket to see the sweater better.

First post here and have been lurking for a week. Glad I found this forum. Here's a my twist on the Lodge outfit. Jacket is a Shades of Grey Field blazer 74.99 from 6pm.com. It's a lot more brown in person. Sweater is Banana Republic in Starry Night color, again more turquoise in person, for $34. Scarf is a random viscose thin scarf from amazon.com for $12 shipped, and high collar henley from (unfortunately) Hollister for $17. Not into cords so kept the jeans and I like my Swear Chaplin oxblood boots too much to not wear them.

I like the color. Jacket seems to be on the shorter side. I think for the price you can find something closer. I chose the Shades of Grey one (besides price) even though the color was a bit lighter but the lapels are closer to the actual Barbour jacket; cut like a blazer/sports coat. The cool thing about the Shades of Grey Jacket is that there is flexiwire through the edge of the lapels and collar so you can bend them to a specific look and they'll stay there without worry of them flapping down flat or whatever. Better pics of the jacket here if you haven't popped onto the site:

2 inches tall when popped or folded? Did you measure in the back?

Here are the pics of the Bonobos Halifax Pea Coat worn. This is a small. I'm 6 ft, 155 lbs, with a 37-38" chest. It fits slim, but has just enough room for layering.
