Your favourite 'era' of Bond?

edited October 2012 in The James Bond Films
Era #1, 1962 - 1985
Connery, Lazenby & Moore. What a run. The literary Bonds/ the comic book Bonds. It had the most extremes, the most experimenting. Bond, from early thirties to late fifties.
Era #2, 1987 -2002
Dalton & Brosnan. The literary edgy Bond/ the sweet n' sour combo Bond. Rough, slick & cool. Bond in his fourties.
Era #3, 2006 - ?
Craig. The literary but tough & buff Bond for today's meaner geo-political climate. Bond in his late thirties & fourties.

My fave is the 2nd era. Not as simplistic as era #1 could be (in terms of character or narrative) at times, not as bleak & dark as era #3 has been (so far).

What about you?
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

Have to be the 1st era for me, while I thoroughly enjoy the 2nd/3rd era films, I always end up watching the Connery ones. They are, in my eyes the original and the best.

This is a tough one, as all have their own good and bad points,

I would have to go with era one, mainly because I always enjoy the Connery movies and the early Moore's.

Era three would have to be second, as I do enjoy Daniel Crraig as Bond.

Era two would have to be last, although I feel I am not doing them justice putting them here as I really Enjoy TLD and GoldenEye,

Era 1 will always be tops for me. I grew up with those films with Roger Moore and Sean Connery as James Bond. I cannot imagine any other era having the same impact on me again. That's not to say era 2 was poor. Far from it, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan were very good Bond's and their films largely enjoyable for the most part. Era 3 is still work in progress. Daniel Craig is also a very good Bond, but so far his films have been mixed. Casino Royale being one of the best and Quantum of Solace one of the weakest. I await Skyfall with much anticipation.

Hmmm.. well, my personal top five includes movies in all three of the named era's. But two of my top favorites (LTK & GE) are both in era #2... However, looking at it overall, I proberbly enjoyed era #1 as a whole even more. This is where all the classics are at! :)

I'd go with Era #1, as When I started to go to the cinema
Sir Roger was Bond, so He's the one I grew up with, when
    I got into Bond. :D

Yeah, from a nostalgic POV this era was very important to me as I was growing up.

I'd go for era #1. Although the other eras also hold some of my favorites and the first era contains some of my least favorites as well. But era #1 contains 14 movies compared to the 6 of #2 and 2 of #3 so the choice is easy :D

    So it's a numerical choice then? :))
In that case, (the following is just my opinion, mind you) the first 'era' contains 5 excellent movies, whereas the second one contains... 5 excellent movies.... :o
