The mother figure

IF Skyfall is the last we see of Judy Dench's M, should there be a replacement "mother figure" for Bond? I wouldn't mind seeing a introduction of Bonds surviving family. His aunt, Miss Charmian Bond maybe? Or possibly his maid (who's name escapes me) who I read as a very Desmond Llewelyn type character. Or should Bond's history be left alone after Skyfall?

After Skyfall, Bond should be left alone. I'd like to see a cold-hearted Bond. A Bond who will act like he has nothing to live for, but still live through everything he goes through.

The way the casting seems to be they will be no "Older" character in the office.
So they'd have to bring in a new character to fill the Father / Mother role.

Bond never had a mother figure. There never was one in the book, perhaps with the exception of his aunt who is mentioned but is never a significant part of the story.

But if you're referring to M, then technically it should be a father figure. M is a man in the Fleming novels and should therefore never have been played by Dame Judi, as good an actor as she is.
