Well...I just came back from seeing SKYFALL in the US and the bulldog that appears in the film is most definitely a VINTAGE piece and will definitely go down as one of the most iconic collectibles of the series. The original bulldogs go for HUGE coin on ebay so it'll probably be worth the wait for RD to bring these back in stock for anyone wanting one of these as it will be more cost effective. Incidentally, the bulldog was first produced by RD during WWI and then WWII to represent the steadfastness of the British people. After seeing the movie, I would think any Bond collector MUST have a bulldog in their collection. It's probably best to have a vintage piece but the current one is a good fit as well. Just don't pay huge dollars for it because you can buy an original vintage one that will be more screen accurate. Just my $0.02.
I think the current Skyfall marketed version is fine, I don't think it's worth spending say 500$ on the vintage version. it depends on the price. The new version can probably hold higher resale value for non-experts Bond collectors.
If you can't trust a Swiss banker, what's the world come to?
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but the same dog ( a larger and smaller version) appear on the desk of 'C' , the controller of Mi6, in Tinker Tailor soldier spy. Obviously a nod towards this from the makers of SF.
If they do there will be a lot of pissed off people as this is a limited edition X-(
Well they are restocking in February so they will just have to be pissed off.

It seems a lot of these limited things are having re-runs.
I know Billy Reid is getting a lot of flak on another thread however it seems Levi's, Barbour, Billy Reid and RD all making extra numbers available for demand due to Skyfall. It makes perfect "business" sense

Absolutley! At a time of financial constraint why would they give two-hoots about exclusiveness for collectors when they can make a profit selling more?
Also, the only collectors who would be angry would be the ones who already have the items. As for those who haven't been able to get the items yet, I'm sure they would be happy about a continuation of production. Limited edition is great, but as a collector (and a fan) wouldn't you be glad to see fellow collectors be able to get the items?

I'm surprised no ones mentioned it before, but 'Jack' has been in the real office of the real 'C' for many years. It's mentioned in one of the MI6 history books that were published (can't remember which one, but I will find it). Apparently this tradition was revived when Legoland in Vauxhall was completed. I remember it being described as a Union Flag draped bulldog ornament. This reason it stands out in my mind was because I bought one soon after and before CR came out. I was over the moon when I saw it in Skyfall.

But if you only bought for the investment value then sell it now as its probably worth the most it ever will be.
If any of you States side is looking for a DD007 Jack, Waterford Wedgwood Royal Doulton, in Tinton Falls, NJ 07753 has them in stock. CALL (732) 493 4584. Cost was $89.25 to VA where I live, so the rate may change slightly once your state tax and shipping is calculated.
From what I understand, what makes them a limited edition is that a run was made to celebrate 50 years of Bond, and it has a SKYFALL stamp, more will be made as it is made every year, the only change apparently is that they new figures will not have the SKYFALL stamp.
This is what the bottom looks like,
Yes, I wish they made them in the UK, and not in Thailand like all the world's souvenirs!
Could not resist, my DOULTON, watching as I type this.

I have to agree with this - UK would be best.
However, I am from Thailand and I am glad these are made from Thailand and not some other countires.
After all Thailand got good reputation of making fine commodities - Nikon products are made there so are all the Swarovski jewelry pieces

In Germany we say that after the production of real- beer, they are floating the barrels with water and that's going into the Heineken bottles later
