Why would you buy the fake one then for the same price you can get the real one for the same price and earlier (February)??

I'm confused. I posted one like this earlier and said "the eyes look different than the screen shot I saw" and people said, "looks okay to me". Now you're saying the RD issue is coming in February and is more authentic for the same price of $70?

If so, that sounds fine to me, of course. I just got excited to share this one when I saw more expensive ones had sold out in this thread...

Texas007: Kirin and Sapporo are not made in Japan, like you said.. Asahi is. However, Kirin is made in Los Angeles USA, not Canada (at least the ones sold in Canada).

You are welcome to believe whatever you want as for watches. It only enriches people like me if you pay 4000$ for a 150$ movement.

Well, exotic marques like Girard Perregaux, Patek Phillipe, etc design their own movements. I seriously doubt my GP has a $150 movement.

Now Omega, yes, a modified version of ETA until this last movement on the new Planet Oceans (coax 9300)

That's exactly what I am saying. It is only worth to spend on a watch if it has a manufacture movement. Often those cost 5000$ and up. Otherwise buy a 1000$ Longines. Not a Breitling that is trying to be something it is not.

To get back on track.. I have read both that the 2013 Bulldogs will have the Skyfall
packing and markings, and that they won't; is there any confirmation either way?
    Thanks

My source tells they'll have the Skyfall sleeve on them, not sure about the markings and this was afterwards confirmed by a sales representative on phone when i called them...

Um, so the one I earmarked is Royal Doulton but not authentic, but the real RD one comes out again in February for $70? For $80? Please advise...

I am confused - do they make them for Royal Doulton or are they making fakes to sell as Royal Doulton - :s

That's what I was checking, as I'm not interested in something with slaughterhouse waste in it. Apparently the one in the movie was a resin replica. If so, it would be much more interesting that the "real" thing.

So, the February release will have the correct eyelids and etc. other than the link I'd posted. Does anyone know the price for the February release? Thanks and cheers.

As far as I am concerned, they all have the correct eyelids and so forth. This for the official RD one.

    Resin replica?

Not that I'm aware of, and I know who's got it. James Bond of course ;)

The doggy used in the film is an original RD bulldog, 1940's circa. The crack in the glaze, and slight difference in appearance to this new reissued doggy is down to the screen used item's age. The burn marks are SFX.

The reissue dog is NOT screen accurate. But there again, the cracked glaze etc makes this item extremely difficult to obtain 100% SA. Even a genuine antique one is highly unlikely to be cracked, or be cracked in the same way.

Pay over the odds for an antique, or get the reissue for much cheaper. Both are not screen accurate, so why go for the more expensive option?

No the ones available in Feb won't have the backstamp or have the Skyfall sleeve.
My mum's husband works for RD.
I'm in Stoke-on-Trent where the RD head office is. It's just around the corner.

Thank God my fiancee read the script online and made me buy
one way before the film came out.

Right. Good to know and thanks, since a lot of people assumed the crack was designed to show wear from the explosion Silva caused at HQ. The reissue looks good and for a good price...

    Hi,

This info goes against my contact at RD.

I've had a written email to confirm, from RD, that the Feb consignment WILL have the stamp and packaging. It would seem someone is mis-informed... :s (it's now a question of who?)

I hope my information is wrong for you guys but this what I've heard from the 'horses mouth'.
However brother's is def not the one with the back stamp and packaging.
I do hope it's not and my bro can get a Skyfall dog.

I suppose we'll all find out in Feb.

Indeed, on my last day my 'workmates' cellophaned me to an office chair (with my winter coat on) then smeared jam doughnuts over my face and left me with the lights out for the cleaners to find.... bastards :))

Cool stuff mr Strangeways, nice gift from the office.
