Well...weird story. Late last year I had ordered the SKYFALL bulldog from a local Royal Doulton dealer. I called them about two weeks after my order was placed to see if I could get an update on my piece's arrival. I was told at the time that Royal Doulton had a run on this item and they were not able to fulfill my order. They were told another run would be made available in February of 2013. So I cancelled my original order. I was rather upset that RD had an order from my dealer but apparently had sold the entire inventory to one buyer (AFTER, mind you...I had placed my order and it was confirmed with them). I assume whoever bought these have been putting them up on ebay...Anyway, I went to my dealer over the weekend as I happened to be in the neighborhood and I decided to inquire as to when the bulldogs would be made available again. Much to my surprise, I found out that RD had shipped the bulldog from my original order and the local dealer had it in their stock room.

I was surprised no one had called me but they probably thought nothing of it since the order had been cancelled. Well, I am glad I checked with them because I was able to pick up the original "Jack" with the SKYFALL box for $70 US.

I don't know if the anticipated run for 2013 will have the SKYFALL marking on the bottom or not but I am glad this turned out well for me after a not so good start.

Best of luck to anyone else who is looking for one!

Oh...I have my bulldog displayed on my desk now next to a Chelsea clock...the same clock that is on James Earl Jone's desk in "Patriot Games" and "Clear and Present Danger." I must say the two pieces look great together.

The last line definitely says "James Bond"...the first line may be M's real name...I can't quite make it out but the best I can do is Alissa Marighold...or something to that effect. I've blown it up quite a bit and I still cannot make out everything. The last 4 letters of the last name are definitely "ghold" and it definitely begins with an "M"...just my $0.02...

It probably says "Olivia Mansfield", which would be a play on Mansfield Cummings, who was the first head of the SIS and referred to as 'C'.

I don't think they're knockoffs, they are RD bulldogs in the same seated position, just different designs painted on them.

Anyway, yes please share the link for $70!

There's an South American dealer on eBay selling knockoffs of RD Jack bulldogs for $135USD. Don't get fooled by the stock image which is of the actual Royal Doulton "Skyfall" edition Jack or the last pic which has Royal Doulton logo.

Here's the image of the reproduction of the reproduction (in other words - FAKE crap)



I'm sure most of the collectors can point out the differences
