I also noticed you didn't put in a "Worst Bond" but thought you did it on purpose because it would be hard to knock any of the actors. I can't seem to choose who I think is the worst so Ill go for SC in DAF (bored, chubby, phoning it in and a terrible toupet) and RM in AVTAK (what is there left to say about Moore in AVTAK.... Roger Moore in AVTAK looks older than he does now).
Favourite Bond = This question is actually really tough for me... I really enjoyed all of the actors that portrayed Bond in the role in their own ways really.. (Though I disliked Lazenby, but then again, I said all ACTORS..) Brosnan I guess could well be my favorite because of some sentimental value, but I definitely woulnd't call him the best one.
Favourite Bond Film = Licence to Kill!
Favourite Bond Theme = Either A View To A Kill (very catchy ) ) or For Your Eyes Only (Beautiful song!)
Favourite Bond Girl = Hmmm, all arround I guess it could be Natalya Simonova. In terms of looks I would go with Domino Derval or Lupe Lamora
Favourite Bond Villain = Franz Sanchez hands down!
Worst Bond Film = Diamonds Are Forever.
Worst Bond Theme = Hmmm... Proberbly TWINE, the song was garbage...
Worst Bond Girl = Stacey Sutton
Worst Bond Villain = Blofeld (Charles Gray in DAF)
After rewatching TND i have changed my mind on Carver, he was quite entertaining and his mocking of Wai Lin's kung fu technique was hilarious.
As well as entertaining, I found his particular level of insanity to be quite believable. His end was suitably gruesome.
I agree, after rewatching this yesterday for the first time in god knows how long he was one of the best things about the film, TND is one of my least fave Bond films though, (i think its decent, but nothing more) and a big let down after Goldeneye, but Carver made me laugh several times
"There's no news... Like bad news",
"So much for German efficiency!" and
"The distance between insanity and genius is measured only by success."
Were some of his memorable and often humorous quotes, maybe he would be better suited the Roger Moore era as he seems more of a comical old school villain
A great thread!
Favourite Bond: Sir Roger Moore, a lot of people may disagree but I watched alot of his Bond films growing up and he really got me in to the franchise. He exuded charisma and charm and I loved his adventures with him as Bond, He still loves the character.
Favourite Bond film: The Spy Who Loved Me
Favourite Bond theme: Duran Duran - A View To A Kill
Favourite Bond girl: Damn! That's a tough one, I'll go Tracy portrayed by Dianna Rigg, although I love Domino Derval, Fiona Volpe, Anya Amasova, Melina Havelock and Xenia Onnatopp.
Favourite Bond villain: Woah! I'll go Jaws although I also like the Telly Savalas portrayal of Blofeld, much more physically intimidating than the Donald Pleasence version, no offence to him. I also like Grant, Goldfinger, Scaramanga, General Orlov, Max Zorin, Alec Trevelyan, Elektra King and sorry but Dominic Greene. Ultimately Jaws just takes it though, a giant with Steel teeth that forced Bond to result to last ditch attempts of survival via electrocution and a giant magnet, ‘how does that grab you’?
Worst Bond: They were all good in my opinion, some people may disagree on that. We've been lucky that they've all been good in different ways. I'd have to say Pierce Brosnan for this list though, sure he looked the part and had one classic hit but his other films were not as good, although The World Is Not Enough is very underrated in my opinion. Overall I just think his films were the worst quality wise, although he did the best that he could do.
Worst Bond film: Die Another Day, too much CGI, an invisible car, a Korean general changing in to a white Brit, Bond looking like Jesus and then ‘checking out’ in bizzare fashion in a hospital, maddonna, the list is endless. I like all Bond films though so I say this is fun trash.
Worst Bond theme: Madonna - Die Another day, I'm not a fan of All Time High or Moonraker or the seemingly overrated You know my name aswell as Another Way To Die which is catchy but Alicia Keys is rather week on it. But my God what is worse than this song, this is awful, a rubbish trashy song and to make matters worse half way through I swear there's a shout which sounds like my name being called out, or that could just be me, I'm not sure.
Worst Bond girl: Another hard choice, I'll go with Jinx, not because I don't like Die Another Day, but because I just couldn't get in to the Jinx character, sure she was tough and independent but she was hard to care about, hard to like and was she really that attractive?
Worst Bond villain: Elliot Carver, good character, bad portrayal by Jonathon Pryce.
aaahhgh!...Thud..(sorts out tie) what a helpful chap
Favorite Bond girl: Aki, based on looks. In terms of depth, Tracy.
Favorite Bond villain: Alec Trevelyan or Franz Sanchez.
Favorite Secondary Bond villain: Red Grant
Worst Bond: Woody Allen from CR' 67. It's Woody Allen, for goodness sake (whom I'm normally a fan of, at least in his early stuff)!
Worst Bond film: Non-EON, CR '67. And its roughly 120+ contributing writers...as for EON, I'd say the series' weakest entry was Die Another Day. Sorry minigeff.
Worst Bond theme: Also Die Another Day. It is the only theme song of any film I've ever gone to that gave me a headache so bad I needed an Advil (although BLASTING it over the sound system as this particular theater tended to do with just about any song probably was a huge contributing factor...).
Worst Bond girl: Stacey Sutton (no redeeming qualities whatsoever) or Dr. Christmas Jones (world's least convincing nuclear physicist; that and I'm one of the very few who does NOT find Denise Richards particularly attractive...I did however find Sophie Marceau VERY attractive from that same film, however, so that was something to bring home from TWINE after seeing it the first time).
Worst Bond villain: Dominic Greene. As I've stated before, why didn't they develop his character more? It's not like the film, all 107 minutes of it, was running out of time. Why couldn't they have made him into demonstratively murderous coward ordering people's deaths (my suggestion was phoning some goon squad with automatic weapons to mow down people protesting their water bill as he bemoans the fact that these people will be a loss of income) as opposed to an informed murderous coward who, even in the axe fight, doesn't seem all that threatening?
Koskov/Whittaker I also agree with, probably to the point where I have trouble with ensemble main villains throughout a given film (kill one off in the middle!). You had to have one of them genuinely evil (when Necros "gets the boot", you lose that feeling). Koskov was busy chewing the scenery and Whittaker was badly miscast using Joe Don Baker. Need I say more? It's a shame, because otherwise, I really liked TLD. Still, both Koskov (in the beginning) and Whittaker (conversation with Pushkin) have their moments. Greene had zilch.
Worst secondary Bond villain: Vlad from Die Another Day. You know you've got problems when your henchman resembles Dwight Frye's portrayal of Renfield from the original Dracula.

So id say the weakest villain is Charles Grays Blofeld.
