Your Most Controversial Bond Opinions

I saw a thread like this on another site and thought it was a fun idea. I apologize if there’s another topic like this (I did a couple searches and couldn’t find one).
The subject line says it all: Tell us your deepest, darkest James Bond movie confessions – your opinions that are so far outside the norm that you’re practically ashamed of them...the opinions to which other fans say “WHAT?!!” or “BOOO!” to. Because I guarantee that EVERY single one of us has at least one opinion that other Bond fans think is downright crazy.
So do you think Moonraker is the best film in the series? Do you think the Bond/Mayday sex scene in AVTAK was hot? Do you think Madonna’s DAD theme song ranks with the best of the Bond songs? This is the place to tell us.
I’m hoping this will stir up some fun debates, but also hoping that people can remain civil. I would hate to start a topic that devolves into insults and name-calling.
I’ll start with my own (rather outside the norm) opinions:
--I hate the song “Goldfinger.”
--I think George Lazenby is terrific as Bond, and wish he had continued with the role
--I think Blofeld is the weakest villain of the series. He’s either not there, or he’s being given ridiculous, bordering-on-hilarious portrayals by Pleasance, Savalas, or Gray.
And yes, those are my honest opinions – not saying them to be provocative. Feel free to disagree/yell/scream...or perhaps even agree
Anyone have any others?

AVTAK is bloody entertaining, and it still depresses me to this day that so many bond fans are always damn negative about it. The film entertains me and I enjoy it. I hate the constant AVTAK bashing!
1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby
- I didn't find Jill St. John to be particularly hot in Diamonds Are Forever.
- You Only Live Twice is one of my favorite Bond films!
And Blackleiter, I can’t agree with you on numbers 1 or 3, but I will wholeheartedly agree that Tiffany Case is NOT hot!
-OHMSS ,one of the worst Bond films towards the very bottom of my list.
-Dalton , one the worst Bonds it's close between him and Lazenby. Both Dalton films are way down on my list as well.
We may disagree about AVTAK, but at least we can agree about YOLT -{
1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby
Jimatay, the FRWL theme song (not the opening instrumental, but the one sung by Matt Munro) is in my top 5 Bond songs. I love it. But you’re right – no one ever picks it.
And Blackleiter, I don’t know about anyone else, but at least you found one person who agrees with you about the extremely unattractive Jill St. John
Always nice to read some AVTAK appreciation -{
1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby
Let's not also forget General Orlov prancing around the Politburo explaining that he has 22 armored divisions in Germany and another 10 in Czechoslovakia.
I've always liked Kamal Khan too. A decent, underrated villain.

I really get a kick out of TMWTGG.
FYEO is a really stupid movie.
I do not hate Madonna's Die Another Day, if fact I like it.

Judy Dench is one of the worst things to happen to Bond

Dalton's movies sucked.
I like Daniel Craig
I liked QoS
-Casino Royale, Ian Fleming
I think Sean Connery looks good in DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER.
That crocodile jumping bit in LALD, bit daft really, on par with the slidewhistle sound effect in the barrel-roll jump in TMWTGG
I prefer Micheal Kitchen to Rory Kinnear
Think the character of Elvis in QoS was totally wasted, the right hand man of the main villian has a handful of lines and no mention anywhere in the film? Utterly lost on me.
I can't stand the continuity errors in DN, like using a browning for the silencer scene, and connery's stupid gurn as he races the sunbeam.
The flying car in LALD is a total load of crap.
DC's skin tight suits look **** too.
Zorin was one of the best villians, mayday was a load of ****.
DAD was great, far better than NSNA
The bath-o-sub in DAF, wtf was that? seriously, what the hell was that for? a getaway? it looked like it had a range of 5yds.
The fake snake and lion in MR and OP were just Monty Python all over.
On a postive note, henchman #1's sideburns in DAF are truly magnificant. -{

I’m liking a lot of these. I also like TMWTGG theme song! Some of the lyrics are dumb but it’s catchy and I like Lulu’s voice.
I also agree that Zorin is a terrific villain. Yes, his scheme may be a bit too similar to Goldfinger’s, but he’s so much crazier. That moment when he’s laughing hysterically while gunning down all his henchmen is, IMO, the creepiest moment in Bond history. Gives me chills every time.
As for the “I like Daniel Craig” comment – I don’t think that’s particularly controversial, is it?
Yep, always liked YOLT. It's my second favourite connery film after DN. I find it to be great fun -{
1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby
I dislike The Spy Who Loved Me. I thought its plot was pretty poor, as was the Bond girl. I mean, how much more generic a code name can you get than 'XXX'? I wonder how much thought the writers put into that. It's also poorly casted: Stromberg's voice bores me to tears because he speaks in a monotone. It's just hard to get excited about it. I don't know what people see in it.
Fleming's novel of the same name was much, much better than the film.
Mayday was hot! i dont care what anybody says!
After FRWL, Goldfinger is a big dissapointment.
Octopussy theme 'All Time High' is the best Bond theme ever.
Gladys Knight was the best singer out of all the Bond theme singers.
...and as great as Craig is...he is still not James Bond...
2) Jaws is a good villain on account of size/teeth but what on earth were they thinking in Moonraker with the whole girlfriend thing!?
3) I'm bored with Aston Martin association. Great marque but I've always found it ridiculous to suggest an agent drives around in a tank like an Aston - not practical/expensive and shouts "look at me!"
4) That invisible Aston was pants and borderline Marvel territory
5) Agree with an earlier post, Goldfinger tune does nothing for me musically, but at least I can remember the title song for that movie! All Bond themes should be named after the film - no exceptions!
I always like to see AVTAK getting a bit of love...to me, it is an example of a Bond film being better than the sum of its parts. There are many reasons why I should dislike, and it does rank quite low on my Bond movie list, but I find it very entertaining and a film I frequently enjoy re-watching. The main villains (Zorin and May Day) and the score are excellent and help to make up for the film's shortcomings.
Als oLALD being one of my favourites as is YOLT
I mentioned this one once before, and I think I am one of the view (if not the only) one who has this oppinion:
I thought Talisa Sota did a great job in LTK! Further more, I actually always thought of the 'I love James SOOO much" line to be an obvious taunt to Pam. She has obviously noticed that Pam was with Bond in the casino, and she delibertly tells her that she slept with Bond last night. Of course she isn't truly deeply in love with Bond, hence she even runs off with El Presidento at the end of the movie. That has always been my interpertation of the line
