you can really think very highly of something and still overrate it
Yep. This is how I feel with TSWLM. Love the film, but find it overrated. I don't think it's the best Moore film by a long shot (like so many do), but still a great movie nonetheless.
TSWLM & OP are very entertaining, but everyone knows TMWTGG is Moore's best Bond.... :v

I completely agree with Blackleiter that FYEO is Roger Moore's best Bond film. I think it's so much better than the others in terms of plot, character, script, tone, seriousness, surprises, and action that I'm always amazed that more people DON'T consider it the best. But that's just me

I don't think it's that controversial. Anything other than FYEO or TSWLM would be. People mostly say one or the other as their favorite. Those are the go to Moore films.

For me it's LALD followed by AVTAK. So controversial, yes.
Okay, I gave you the benefit of the doubt and went back to take a look at Ms Andress in Dr. No. All I can say is "You know MEN that are built like that? Wow!!!" I mean it's true that she might not be as curvaceous as Halle Berry or Denise Richards, but she looks far from masculine to me. "You must give me the name of your oculist."

At the risk of sounding racist, she had "White Girl butt syndrome."
Nothing a little exercise couldn't have taken care of though...
not racist but not entirely true either! )
plenty of white girls w/ the stamp of approval abound...
...honeyrider also suffers from man shoulder syndrome...they are just too wide for my taste, thus making her derriere smaller than it might be in real life... 8-)

Ehhh, not so man-like in my eyes, but I see what you're sayin'. Strong shoulders can work well on a lady for me.
I can't stand the continuity errors in DN, like using a browning for the silencer scene, and connery's stupid gurn as he races the sunbeam.
The former? I agree. The latter? Depends on when. Even though the 1939 LaSalle/Miller Hearse would have taken a long time to get up to speed, it had a VERY high cruising speed and would have caught up with him eventually. There's a reason state troopers and first responders took a liking to LaSalles during their brief manufacturing run.
The flying car in LALD is a total load of crap.
There's a flying car in LALD? I mean, he does cut the wings off a plane, but he never once gets it off the ground (even when it has wings). Or do you mean the flying car from TMWTGG?

[*]Shirley Bassey's best bond theme was Moonraker!
Kara from TLD is one of my fave bond girls.
I also think M should not be in the field. His part in OP doesn't make sense. He could have easily been killed instead of Vijay!!
I also love the theme from TLD.
Moonraker is the best Moore film!
The DB5 should be left to rest.[/*]

I'm right there with ya pal!
Moonraker is the best Moore film!

Ironically, even my father, who had all kinds of gripes about TLD (although NOT with Dalton...he very much liked LTK and thought Dalton even saved a few of the weaker scenes such as those with the guy who played Martin Krest...), liked the theme song. So not all that controversial. Also, the two songs John Barry wrote for The Pretenders ("Where Has Everybody Gone?" and "There Was a Man", but really, "Where Has Everybody Gone?" was one everyone I know thought highly of) are generally considered top-notch amongst Bond music.

-I can't watch Brosnan as Bond, the "dark years" for the series
-A-HA's Living Daylights is the best Bond song.
"Clearly"? Ohh that's a fightin' word! I quite enjoy LALD but "clearly" his best film?...hooooo boy! That one *is* controversial.

The weakest actor in the role was Pierce Brosnan.
