[*]I also think M should not be in the field. His part in OP doesn't make sense. He could have easily been killed instead of Vijay!![/*]

Ive enjoyed reading this, even the ones i've disagreed strongly with. I suppose my controversial opinions are...I liked AVTAK, i loved LTC, i think Goldfinger is massively overrated and i think Goldeneye is fast becoming the most dated movie.
Could you clarify on this one a bit? Dated in terms of plot, gadgets, or what? I'm not trying to pick a fight here; I just don't understand which part of the film you think is dated (there WERE a few parts that not even I thought would age well and I have the movie ranked number five...Bond and Alec's respective ages I thought would come back to haunt them).
If you're on that part of the film, AVTAK is just about "IT'S THE MID-EIGHTIES AND DON'T FORGET IT!" as possible (ironically, AVTAK is one I never really could get myself to dislike, but it has just about every possible hallmark of being a period film)... )
Hair spray? Don't know the first thing about it. Wouldn't know it if I saw it. What I meant was literally every fashion that showed up in the film screamed, with the intensity but exponentially more aggressiveness of Stacey Sutton's voice, "IT'S THE MID-EIGHTIES!" When you have a Soviet spy looking like the bad girl in a given episode of Miami Vice and Gogol in a California-legal Corvette, plus a guy being murdered to hard rock blasting through a car's amps, you know it's the '80's. )
* AVTAK and MR where my first two Bond movies, so I love them both. I thought Bond was a 55-60 years old character.
* I think the worst two Bond movies ever are TND and GE.
* I never liked TSWLM and think little of YOLT (except for the soundtrack)
* TB is a boring movie. All the the underwater stuff should have been trimmed down to the essential.
* Pierce Brosnan is my least favourite Bond.
I think a lot of fans of a certain age really like TSWLM.
I'm NOT trying to change anyone's mind but,
It's 1977, Britain is a Dull place, Strikes everwhere, SLADEs top of the charts
Tank-tops are fashionable. All cars are a drab Brown. Only three TV channels.
I still remember as a young 12yr Old seeing the PTS of SPY and thinking
"Bloody Hell " Excitement, Glamour, Great car.
So sure it's a remake of YOLT, but it was fun and entertaining, So I think many of us
keep it high on our list, almost as a childhood friend.
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
Finally, someone who shares my dislike for The Spy Who Loved Me -{ I thought I was the only one
On my 1-22 Bond film rankings, The Spy Who Loved Me is 19th. I don't see what all the fuss is about.
Great, I really never understood why everyone says it´s the best Bond Roger Moore did. I guess in context (1977) it was a departure from earlier Bonds, and really saved the series. Also the Bond girl is cool, Jaws too, the Lotus is fun, great PTS, but Stromberg is as bad as it gets, so fake and wooden, and the YOLT ripoff is so blatantly obvious. For me it´s actually the one of Roger´s I had least fun watching (including TMWTGG).

I think you mean Q instead of M.... (?)
Most controversial for and about me:
I love them all!
The movies by the way.
Sue me!
You got no idea how much flak I took in the past for that

I agree with you on TND, i like GE though.
I thought this when I first saw the film. But with repeated viewings I quickly changed my mind.
