Never Watched Never Say Never Again Ever Again

NSNA is the only 'bond film' that I watched once (just to say I've seen it) and never watched again. (Infact this may also be the case with 1967 CR).
I never intend to watch it again. It's not part of the bond franchise and I just didn't enjoy it either way.
Anyone else watched a bond film just once, and then never again?

Although I do have it and the 67 CR in the DVD collection But I don't think I ever watched
the 67CR all the way through. )
I saw Never Say Never Again at the cinema and didn't think it was too bad at the time, a pale imitation of Thunderball. I didn't see it again for over a decade and was then struck by how poor it really was. Have only seen bits and pieces since then.
Neither of those films are part of my Bond collection. I am sure I will see bits and pieces of them again on the TV at some point. However, I cannot foresee watching them in full. Maybe when I'm old and have lost my memory?
I posted what yesterday?.......Who are you?......And what am I doing here?

It has an interesting take on the Bond character. James Bond is a code name for the agent who is 007. Plus anything with Peter Sellers can't be all bad!
I'll leave the comedy to Austin powers ta.

While we're on the subject of CR, I haven't ever seen the 1954 version all the way through. I've seen bits of it on youtube, but I just couldn't get into it.

Well there's that and the fact that the rest of the film is dribble. I choose to recall DAF as Connery's last hooray.
I've said it before...but I kinda like this film...it's silly and stupid but fun in places...and it IS a complete mess...but it does 'work' in places - just NOT as a Bond film...and the soundtrack is great !

I have to agree with the comments on CR '67, mind you Barbara Bouchet as Moneypenny's daughter in a baby-doll nightie...wow!
But it did feel like a made to TV film, but agent 272, you're correct, well worth the look.

I finally decided to strap myself down and watch the whole thing. I can quite confidently say I'll "never again" watch this movie. It was nice to see Connery having fun, but it was such a cheaply-made Bond picture. It couldn't be taken seriously.
I did find the final wink Connery gives the camera as a big middle finger to Cubby Broccoli. Maybe I'm just trying to make something out of nothing

Depending on how long ago it was that you last watched it, you might enjoy it a little more if you watch it again. Surely, you know going in that there will be no gunbarrel, Bond theme or Desmond Llewelyn, but it still has some bits that are descent and enjoyable. But I think since we're all so much 'attached' to EON's Bond, you automaticly go into this one with a certain hatred towards it. It's McClory produced, we know the whole backstory so of course we certaintly aren't going to like this!!
But with a more honest look, I'd say this one is at the very least descent. I enjoy it more than DAF, but I'd say all other EON films rank above this one after that. Connery seems to enjoy being Bond again and stars in some pretty enjoyable scenes. (The one where he tricks a guy in the closet by saying he's holding a bomb is priceless! ) ) Fatima Blush, the Fiona Volpe clone is pretty enjoyable as well. If I'm not mistaken it is also here in NSNA that a laser watch is first seen, something that EON later actually did as well.
It's not a great movie by all means, but I certainly would say it's worth a second watch!

I made this topic back in 2012, and since then I've rewatched NSNA. You're quite right, I did enjoy it more. By no means would I rank it above any of the official bond films, but it had it's moments nonetheless.

never make it to the end without skipping forward.
The score is a big fault. In TB you have J Barry's great
music drive the action forward. -{ Sadly with NSNA
the music is really bad, distracting at times, boring
at others.
The underwater fight at the end is as exciting as watching
a mates holiday scuba video.

YOLT. He just didn't have many scenes where much acting
was required !
It's all action, sets and gadgets etc.
Connery's look didn't work for me, his toupee being very bad and the eyeliner and fake tan. He'd lost weight and looked a bit wan as a result. The gals looked too young. And the villains. The action never kicked in. Still, it is an interesting failure, and you can't say that about other Bond films. Not that interesting though.
