Casino Royale Framed Poker Chips

I know this is going back a little with the new bond film coming out and all all, truth is i've been meaning to do this for ages and seek some guidance. Saw a programme called 'put your money where your mouth is' and this woman went to the prop store in London and purchased a supposedly original set of chips used in the film for £100 even though the guy was selling it for £200. I have added pics to see what you guys make of this, i know the $5000 dollar was used in the film but $5, $25 and $100 come on is bond playing for potatoes! I think they are lying and the thing so for £520 quid at auction.
What i need help with is how to display the items without damaging them i.e are they stuck to the felt by glue or held in place by friction or some other means. I have no experience in box-frames and will be my first one i'm doing so if any of you know how to display the items without damaging would be a great help? I think my one will be better as i'm using the exact amounts on the poker chips used in the film. And the poker cards although i know there not the film ones and slightly different size.
Note the one you see at the top is my frame display to be lol

Right, first the programme. Is it one of these bargain hunting 'make a million for bugger all' shows, like storage hunters etc? If so, it's staged scripted bullshit.
If these supposedly screen used chips were for sale at £200 and they agreed to sell at £100 then I'd be suspicious right away. The fact the lesser denominations weren't used on screen would ring the alarm bells even louder.
Then there's how these chips and cards are displayed. By the shadows, the chips look to be sitting on the felt, so ok they might be held there by the glass trapping them. Unlikely though as with their weight, they'd be liable to shift about. The cards certainly would so it'd be a safe assumption that all the items are glued in place. Now that adds more weight to the fake argument. If you owned screen used props, would you really glue them to a felt sheet?
In my humble opinion mate, the items are repro's, displayed in a cheap tacky frame, poorly laid out and if someone really paid £520 for that framed crap then they've been mislead and THAT is despicable. All involved with the sale should be ashamed of themselves.
Plus that ugly old ginger bird has got a nose you could cut glass with.
"Bet you ten quid you can't steal them chips without using your hands"
"With this nose? You're on"

As for laying out your chips, if sticking is unavoidable, put a small square of Sellotape on the chip, then some double sided on top of that. If you ever need to remove the double sided, the Sellotape will come off easier and shouldn't leave too many marks. Not recommended for the cards though.
If it were me, I'd stick 2 sheets of mount card together and cut out holes for the chips and cards to sit in, then spray mount the felt sheet on, flip it over and cut the felt out where the holes are, but slightly smaller than the holes in the card, then simply press the chips in place.
Hope this helps.

I'd like to think that propstore is a reputable company mate, but I'm very dubious that this apparently set of 'screen used' props was actually used on screen. The way they're displayed, the low denomination chips, the ludicrously low sale price, it all just seems a bit doubtful to me.

Redsleighdown is spot on here.... They are more than reputable and they use quality framers to display their props.
On the topic of denominations, you're forgetting that the le chifre private game is set in a real live casino, where "normal people" were also playing, as you see in the walk-through scenes.
I suspect these low denominations were on the tables during those scenes, but can be seen only from a distance.
As to whether these particular chips were in shot, used in shooting or in fact just supplied to the production, only god knows....
But rest assured propstore believe in utmost good faith that they were one of the three.
I just get very skeptical when it comes down to 'screen used' props. In my book, screen used, production made and replicas are all very different things. If something is titled 'screen used' then it should be easily seen on screen, not used as a dressing piece in the next room where the scenes filmed were edited out of the final release.
The reason I'm so cynical about 'screen used' props etc is that i've seen some items in the past which I know for a fact weren't used on screen, or even made by the production, and yet there they are, even with a COA. Lets face it, a COA can be made up by anyone with a printer.
Ok, so there's good and bad in all walks of life, but I get very suspicious with these programmes where the asking price can get suddenly cut in half, and then the item sells later for double the original asking price. It all just seems too good to be true, and well, ya know what they say about that.
As for the propstore, I've never bought anything off them so I can't talk about them with experience, but maybe because of that I shouldn't be too quick to judge?
I hope that propstore do sell items that have been checked for authenticity, and I'd trust red's and ke02's opinions.
I just think its way to easy to get caught out in the original prop collecting game.
It's also bloody expensive )

As far as the price, I could possibly agree that they are all over the map. Some items in my opinion are way too over priced, while others I have snatched up instantly due to being a steal. They do take a lot of time though determining price. Two items in the store could look itentical in every way, but if one was handled by the main actor and one by the background stuntman, you'll see a vast price gap.
