Your favorite gunbarrel sequences

While I am really hoping to see a propper gunbarrel opening in Skyfall again, it got me thinking, which of all the gunbarrel sequences we saw where your favorites? (In terms of score for example, as they are all in fact different.)

I guess I really liked the FYEO, LTK and GE gunbarrel sequences. All very unique!
Post yours!! And lets all hope that Skyfall DOES have the gunbarrel opening returned as well! :D

Here's all of them, showing how they differ:

It's hard for me to decide which is my favourite really. But I do quite like he first 7 due to the hat (which I miss).

Although Dr No's is a little odd, with the strange xylophone sound and all..
    1 - LALD, 2 - AVTAK, 3 - LTK, 4 - OP, 5 - NTTD, 6 - FYEO, 7 - SF, 8 - DN, 9 - DAF, 10 - TSWLM, 11 - OHMSS, 12 - TMWTGG, 13 - GE, 14 - MR, 15 - TLD, 16 - YOLT, 17 - GF, 18 - DAD, 19 - TWINE, 20 - SP, 21 - TND, 22 - FRWL, 23 - TB, 24 - CR, 25 - QOS

    1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby

I like CR one, how it is blended into the the pre-title sequence is cool.
The score for the LTK one is awesome, and I like the new barrel seen in GE.
DAD bullet thing was cool, IMHO.
I like George's on one knee position in the OHMSS gunbarrel

I love the gunbarrel sequence, I think the one in Quantum of Solace was possibly the worst as it was at the end of the film and not the beginning, being a traditionalist I thought that was wrong, Daniel Craig also walked way too quickly. The one in Die another Day was a sign of things to come in the movie, way too much CGI. The casino Royale one was creative but not traditional at all, my favourites are:

1.Goldeneye - First CGI gunbarrel, a new era for Bond, I love the Bond theme used in this gunbarrel, I can't believe they never released it.

2.For Yours Only - You have to love the more dance oriented Bond theme used in the gunbarrel, I also love the way Roger supported his firing arm with his other arm, seems very professional.

3.Dr. No - The first gunbarrel and one of the best, I love the pace of it, I love the chimes and I love the gun noise.

4.On Her Majesty's secret Service - I like the music used for it but mainly the way Lazenby fires it, very nice.

5.Licence To Kill - I love the noise, it really set the tempo for the vishous but great Bond film that followed it.

6.You Only Live Twice - Again I love the music used for this gunbarrel and I love the way Connery fired the gun, nice stance.

7.The World Is Not Enough - I like the music used, instead of the normal Bond theme.

These gunbarrels were traditional but unique in there own way.

I really like the DAD gun barrel. I don't mind the bullet, I wish that was in 3-D. It gives you a moment of woah!!! I also like the music used for DAD.

Goldfinger and Thunderball, for the use of the original, unadulterated James Bond theme.

I liked the Lazenby & Dalton stances best. I also preferred Moore's for LIVE & LET DIE and THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN than his others.

As for Bond theme blasts, I've always liked DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER & THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN best. David Arnold always used to balls it up for me.

Connery always looks as though he's going to fall over in his gunbarrel walks. He semi-kneels very awkwardly. Moore's flares flapping away from THE SPY WHO LOVED ME onwards always makes me chuckle.

ive read somewhere, on AJB i think,,,,,,, connery only did the gunbarrel himself once, the other times it was a stand in,,

Bob Simmons was Bond in the gunbarrel sequences of the first three films. From TB onwards it is Connery himself. I agree with BIG TAM, Connery does look like he is going to fall over.

I'm a fan of the George Lazenby gunbarrel sequence. I like the fact that they went back to the dot stopping like it did in Dr. No to announce the producers and I think the way GL does it makes it look unique.

In terms of the music, Goldfinger, Licence To Kill and Goldeneye are the one's that stand out the most for me. Goldeneye might be a bit of a controversial choice but I really like it. In terms of the walk and stance, I like them all to a certain degree except the original which is clumsy. My favourite is Roger Moore's second gunbarrel walk from The Spy Who Loved Me onwards. It looks the most smooth, the most natural, and is less dramatic.

I'm sure they are reshooting it, but where did you hear about this anyway? I guess I am a little bit behind on the gunbarrel - skyfall front...

Are you referring to the Bob Simmonds ones in the first three films? If so, I absolutely agree. But I thought Connery's three gunbarrel sequences were pretty darn good.

Hmm ... the lack of smoke (or a flash) coming from the barrel in Moore's gunbarrel sequences makes me wonder whether he actually fired the shot (compared with, say, the noticeable smoke coming off Connery's barrel in Diamonds Are Forever or the flash coming from Dalton's in The Living Daylights).

As far as stance is concerned, I think Lazenby's is the best. He turned, dropped on one knee and fired in one swift motion. To me, anyway, he looked like a professional who has fired guns before (and he has, no doubt - according to Wiki he is quite the firearms enthusiast and former member of The Australian Army). He made it look easy.

In Connery's gunbarrels from TB onwards he seems to wobble a bit after he fires the shot.

I like Dr. No and OHMSS best - simply because they're so different from the rest - which appear rather generic. The Craig films also have very interesting ones, needless to say! Playing with the Bondian image there!

I also really like the Roger Moore gunbarrels - love his more realistic two-handed grip when firing the Walther PPK - the way it should always be done IMHO.

The first three gunbarrels were of course from stunt man Bob Simmons (not Sean Connery) - a probably quite well-known little-known fact, by now.

Any of the John Barry scored ones, plus FYEO (although the score for the rest of that movie is garbage, bar the Bond theme). GE is okay too.

Not a fan of DN, LALD, TSWLM, LTK, TND, TWINE, DAD, CR or QoS.

The first one I saw, AVTAK, and the opening shot of the helicopter in the Arctic is a big favourite. The music is fantastic, John Barry at his best in the mid 80s.

My favourite's are Craig in Quantum of Solace (because throughout the film and in the gunbarrel sequence he just looks really really pissed off.) I also like Dalton in LTK as he looks like he really could kill a man. And then of course Lazenby's down on one knee was a nice touch.
