What's interesting about the Markos is the lenses do not look blue at all when you wear them. They look brown or rose. I have both the blue lens and the gradient grey lens models and both sets of lenses appear brown in the mirror when I wear them.
When I see pictures of DC wearing the QoS Tom Ford's, the lenses look very blue. Although I do love the style and the quality of the Markos, I am disappointed in the blue lenses. Not blue at all.
Be careful with eBay, many sellers sell fake designer glasses. I once was sold far ray bans.
well, I ordered one of these and paid promptly. Immediately a USPS tracking code is posted letting me know that the seller created a self generated shipping label. A week goes by with no updates so I message the seller asking if there was any updates. He then responds by saying this
"We do apologize for this. Please understand that we did not want this to happen, we shipped out the item as promised. We want this to be a happy and positive transaction for you. Rest assure that we will do all we can do to assist you with this. We will contact the post office to check what is going on with your package, please give us till tomorrow to find out whats hapening. Thank you so much for your patience"
then I get a refund notice and another message stating that the package was "lost" and that they are looking into it but wont be able to find it so they just automatically sent me back my money. I appreciate the refund but clearly the post office didnt even get the package as an acceptance status was not updated so I assume they just ran out of stock and held onto my money for as long as they could until I complained.
Did anyone who ordered from this guy actually get any sunglasses?
I have an extra pair that I am willing to part with for what I paid for them. $275 shipped. If you want special shipping, I'll add whatever the method costs over USPS.

Just wanted to bump this to see what everyone else thinks about the blue lenses.
Do they look any lighter outside, in natural daylight?

Always check ebay , I got mine today as the sun shined in the uk for once and got them straight on. Love them! They really are a top item with fantastic quality!! You'd be hard pressed to find a realistic alternative. Would advise anyone looking for a pair to actually shell out and get the genuine pair. Happy tom ford purchaser right here!!
I quite liked the way the Markos complimented Daniel's tuxedo on the hashima island scene.
As much as I like the aviator style, I have the Tom ford 108s! They're currently my ultimate holy grail of my collection (partly because of their price)!
I'm quite surprised that the Markos are not a "skyfall" edition, with "James bond 007" written on the hinge.
On my 108s, the inside of the hinge states "James bond 007". It adds such a unique touch to the pair.
Just curious, who here thinks that there should be a "skyfall edition" of the Markos? If there's a lot of Interest, there's a chance Tom ford could so this. Sounds unlikely but just a thought!

I prefer my items without the tagging. IMO, those types of tags just cheapen the product. I don't want to walk around with a tv show or movie title on my clothes.
I have a quick question for you guys. I have been thinking of buying the Marko pair of sunglasses for quite some time but I don't really feel comfortable buying them from Amazon having in mind the price is $270.
How can they cost $270 and be original/genuine? On Tom Ford's website you can see the two official retailers where you can buy them from in New York (Tom Ford and Bergdorf Goodman) and they both sell them for $410. How come the pair on Amazon is original and costs $140 less? Can anyone help me with figuring this out?
I ordered mine through one of the optics vendors on amazon months back and paid around the same.... took mine into a shop locally that sold Fords and compared mine... genuine... absolutely no difference... and the local shop in Nashville was asking in the high 300 I believe... so for what it is worth.. my order was safe..
I bought a pair of TF marko (not the rhodium 18v but gunmetal) from Hautelook.com when they had the sale. It is a very reputable website. I got mine for around $240 tax in. They are genuine. Therefore, the price alone doesn't say genuine or not, the reputation of the seller is more important. And having friends who work as opticians, I have been told that mark ups at retail can be huge
Well OK I just don't understand how they get the sunglasses for such low prices in the first place to be able to sell them for like $270...Every place that is recognized by Tom Ford sells them for $410 (at least in NYC). Where did those online retailers get the sunglasses from and how can one be sure they are genuine - of course most probably they will not look fake and when compared to originals would look alike.
I am not sure if to pay the $410 or go for the $270 amazon alternative. Definitely don't want fake ones but would be happy to save $140
I've been waiting for the sun to shine in England before getting the 18V Markos. Figured I'll never get them if I continued to wait for that so bought mine today from eBay for £182.40. Good feedback seller and if they turn out to be fakes I'll put in a claim with PayPal.

2. Irony.
3. Lists.
So my two "noob" questions about these sunglasses...
*are there any obvious tells if they are fake?
*are all the lenses in the blue markos the same colour as seen in Skyfall? The light blue? They look light in the product shots, but when worn, some of them seem to be darker.
My Markos arrived yesterday. They look great and they're definitely real but I must admit I'm a tad disappointed with the quality considering the price.

If you do some research you will see that there are places (for example http://www.otticanet.com/en/sunglasses/tom-ford/marko-ft-0144/ )where they are sold for like $222 and they are fake - at least this is what people on the internet say in general about sunglasses sold by this website.
If you live in new york on Wednesday there is a 25% discount at Saks Fifth Avenue and you can get them from there - you can also pre-orded them in case they have none left on Wednesday.
Sorry to bump an old thread....but I just received my pair of Marko's from Sole Eyewear, and they seem to have one of the best prices I have seen in a while on these sunglasses. If anyone is still in the market for these, check out the website below and use coupon code BREEZE for an extra discount and free shipping in the US. http://www.soleeyewear.com/tom-ford-marko-tf144-ft0144-18v-silver-58mm-sunglasses/
I'm enjoying the sunglasses so far....a subtle update to the QOS sunglasses I have been wearing for the last several years.
This may be common knowledge but I've been told by a UK retailer, who spoke to someone at Tom Ford in London, that the 'shiny rhodium' description refers to the colour of the frames and that the frames are made of 'a metal alloy that isn't nickel free'.
I assumed that they would be rhodium plated; anyone got anything definite on this please?

Are the lenses supposed to be polarized? Mine definitely aren't...
And is there a way to maybe widen the arms of the sunglasses out a tad? Slightly too tight on my large head.
