Hello.....

Although I've been in the shadows looking through the site for a month or so, I decided it was time to take the plunge and say "Hello".
Where to start.......well, being of an age barely under 40, I grew up in the 80's firmly in the Roger Moore era and thinking he was the best Bond there is, was, and ever could be. The only exposure to Bond I ever had though was the obligatory Christmas screening.
That was it for decades and despite having been bought the tin box set 10 years ago I never really had that much interest in watching them.
But...all this changed with Daniel Craig and Casino Royale, multiplied further with the release of Quantum of Solace and continued to reach new heights with the impending release of Skyfall.
I started to search out unconfirmed whispers, information, trailers and forums. Which led me to jamesbondlifestyle and of course here. I think it's no exaggeration to say that my life has changed. I now hunt out the clothes (well, having an ex wife, two kids, a mortgage etc etc close approximations of the clothes) and I started my own little collection two weeks ago of bits and bobs.
This was kicked off by not attempting to collect the things that are of value now or in the future or the items which are sort after by serious collectors, but things that appeal to me and interest me. As such I have accumulated so far a signed Daniel Craig QoS photograph (unsure of its authenticity), a Cubby Broccoli autograped picture, a 40th anniversary set of two sealed playing cards in presentation tin, Casino Royale lobby card set, Japanese release gatefold 10th anniversary duble LP and a few other pieces.
And today I managed to swipe flyers and promo sheets from Skyfall (WOW!!!!!!!) at my local Cineworld - making sure I got 23 of each (sad I know!)
So, that's my story so far, and while I may not be the most active of members and certainly far from the most knowledgeable, I'll crop up from time to time to say "Hi", and I'll always be in the shadows!
I should also add that I'm off to Venice this week, the girlfriend thinks it's for a romantic break but my interest is solely in it as a Bond film location (if anyone tells her, I'll deny it all!!). So, any pointers or must see areas would be much appreciated.
