Former James Bond actor Roger Moore will host the BBC One news quiz Have I Got News For You.

The episode will be aired on November 23, and it will be the first time Moore has presented the programme.
Moore said the news quiz is one of his "favourite shows".

“I just hope Ian and Paul will treat this old English actor gently. If not, I’ll press the button which releases their chairs into a piranha filled pool below and will cackle wildly like Ernst Stavro Blofeld … who said I wasn’t a ham?” he said.

His appearance on the quiz will be aired while the new James Bond film Skyfall is still on general release. The film, which stars Daniel Craig, broke box office records for a Bond film in its first weekend of release in the UK.

Have I Got News For You has been using guest presenters for its weekly episodes since regular presenter Angus Deayton left 10 years ago. Sports anchor Clare Balding and Star Trek actor William Shatner have both recently hosted the show.
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."

I'm a little worried. Moore is gently self-deprecating but I'd hate to see him assaulted on air by the full-on satire of contemporary comedians.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

The Saint halo and tune were fun, as was the pool-of-sharks graphic. Sir Roger was gently teased/much loved.
