The RAF/Navy helicopters that show up over that island lair to arrest Bardem's character was OK use of CGI: vehicles are more convincing than creatures when depicted with a physical or CGI model. And we only see them in the sky for a few seconds, so it was more trouble than it was worth to use real or physical model vehicles (unlike with the Silva's gunship and tube train).
The space shuttles from Moonraker and the underwater Lotus from The Spy Who Love Me was impressive use of physical model work for the time (though some of the physical model work used in GE and TND was a bit dated). And the crashing plane from Quantum of Solace was another competent use of CGI.
I must say the Uncanny Valley effect when you get to see Silva's deformed face was more of a help than a hindrance.[/spoiler]
'Alright guard, begin the unnecessarily slow moving dipping mechanism...'
I thought the dragons were pretty cool...the only time the CGI really ruined it for me was when they were first introduced and the komodo dragon looks at the audience. At that moment you're thinking "That's either a well-trained thespian komodo that knows it cues, or a CGI effect" and the suspension of disbelief is ruined. I've seen this happen a lot when it seems animators just don't know when to lay off...just because you can do it, doesn't mean you should.

I also think when Silva takes out his teeth they should have left it at that. There was no need to show him putting them back in slowly closeup as this is when the suspect CGI showed up in my opinion and was unnecessary to show this clip

I noticed right away that the Komodo Dragons were CGI creations, and it took me out of the film for a moment. It didn't really hinder my enjoyment of the movie, though.
