For anybody that has the Tetbury, could you chime in and state whether you ordered true to size or had to go down a 1/2 - 1 size. I'm a US 13D and unfortunately there is no place near me in the states to be fitted for this brand. I spoke with a salesperson on the phone at the New York store, and the only advise he was able to give me was to order a UK12 and an UK11, then return the one that didn't fit :v

I went down a size from a normal UK9 in everything to a UK 8.5 as they are long of course.
Dont wait for your ship to come in. Swim out and meet the bloody thing.

Hi Guys ended up getting a pair of crockett and jones woburn which look nearly exactly the same as the tetbury just an older version i think and yeah i would advise to go half a size down for crockett and jones boots.

I ordered the Islays in 8..5 under advice from Yukiko in the C and J Burlington Arcade store. Really helpful and will post out etc

Popped in when visited London and David was equally as helpful

8 in Tetbury too tight, so he ordered me an 8.5 and posted them once in. Perfect fit

Think there is an 8 week wait now tho

Id say 0.5 a size smaller than usual fit will be perfect

Now on the hunt for the highbury's !!!

So i'll be in the uk in a few weeks.

Where's a good place to try on/buy these C&J tetbury shoes? Or just to try on, then the cheapest place to buy online etc? (getting VAT back would be awesome too)

I don't think there are many resellers and they are all really the same price. The London branches are superb, the people really helpful, they will even fill in your VAT reclaim form and envelope for you ready for airport etc

They also send abroad VAT free just email them

Just a word of advice, dpending on what size you are after, ring in advance as they are mainly sold out of 8's and 9's......

Tel no's etc on the C and J websites

Agree with expat - I wished I'd gone down 1/2 size - mine are a tad loose and therefore crease in a slightly disappointing way

    That said I love em

I appreciate the input thus far. It seems like I will opt for the UK11.5. Unfortunately, I can't find a place that will have these until January.

Odd, I'm a 10.5. I ordered a 10.5 and a 10.5 fit me. However, due to unforeseen circumstances I have totalled them in a flooded field (don't ask) and am buying a new pair. Might have the flood damaged pair up for sale if anyone is interested. :))

Should have echoed these comments... Yukiko and David were exceptional... I live in USA and they were mega helpful... I'd always buy through these guys inspite of the wait..

I dropped down in size also! Great boots but I love the Highburys more comfort wise, for some reason they feel great on my stupid feet! :)

Hey folks...would love for you to check out my video on reviewing the SkyFall Tetbury boot...and putting it through it's paces!

Wow - great review Dave !!!

Peter gunn!!! Now that's an icon!!

Love it - and love my tets... Wear them twice a week at least .

One observation - I spotted a continuity error - I know several members will be fascinated to know.

The train that u show arriving at the station is engine no 912, yet the train leaving is 909.

Perhaps you could photoshop it away it prevent the usual deluge of responses, and prevent your wonderful video entering the blooper hall of fame.

    Cheers

Hey DZ, great video-made me want a pair even more now! I see you shelled out for the shoe trees, seems a must, but did you buy anything else from C and J in the way of 'shoe care'...wondering whether to invest in the wax polish or any other accessories, and how much would they set you back?

You just need cream and polish. They're about £2.50 a tin/tube. And some brushes and cloths. Check this out....

Anyone know if it is cheaper to buy from London store and ship to US (and save VAT) or to buy from NY store?

    Great video review!!

I know exactly what you mean by no break-in period and comfort, my Islays are the most comfortable boot I've ever owned, straight out of the box!

Think I may need to buy some Tetburys now...
    And shoe trees...

    Mantis,

Great review though I have a few questions.
    1. Did you buy them at the US store? Just wondering if its better to buy them in the UK (cost wise and some UK dealers offer free shoe trees).
    2. Do they run true to size?

Haha. Your product reviews are great. They're very informative and sort of corny in a fun way. $160 shoe trees!? WOW! I didn't realize that lasted trees were so expensive.

They run true to size for me and I had them shipped from the UK...with the VAT out it was a better price and lightning fast service... also, the trees were only $80

Did you buy it thru C&J? If so did you call or email to order?

...my mistake. I thought that you said that they were about 100 pounds. Very nice boots though (and complete outfit). I like them more than the Islay's. I have a similar pair from AE from a few years ago. It looks similar, but it has a leather sole.
