As a new member of this forum I don't know if the question has been asked before, but if you could choose an author to write a Bond continuation novel, who would it be? Living or dead?
I'd have loved J.G. Ballard (Cocaine Nights, Crash, Concrete Island) to have had a crack at it. His dystopian ideas could have made for a strange Bond adventure.

I'd love to see Barry Eisler write one. He's a Bond fan, and his John Rain novels have a definite 007ish vibe to them.
William Gibson's writing style, especially in his early novels, is rather Fleming-like.
And here's an odd one: The late Christopher Hitchens. He was also a Fleming fan, and his knowledge of geopolitical affairs might have made for an interesting take on Bond. Of course, I don't think he ever wrote fiction.

Although he was another who didn't put much
sex scenes in his novels.
This post reminds me of my Law lecturer replying to a chap who said a person might not be prosecuted if he was dead!
IFP Board Member: 'What about Alistair Maclean?'
Other board member: 'He's dead'

Did your Law lecturer say anything about reading the question.
To add some conspiracy elements, Dan Brown
For atmosphere, J.K.Rowling
And to bring it all together, and give the story a Hook,
the great. J.R. Hartly.
That's a point, Thunderthighs, old ****!
Yes, but my martini's still dry. -{
