Each Bond for each decade

Even though a couple or even three actors might have played Bond on a decade, Connery is the Bond of the 60s, Moore the 70s, Dalton the 80s, Brosnan 90s and Craig 00s.
In a parallel perfect universe, it would go as follows:

Connery 60s:

DN
FRWL
GF
TB
YOLT
OHMSS (Difficult to imagine Connery in OHMSS, although it would have been great, and appropriate to end the decade)

Moore 70s:

DAF (perfect for Moore, the tone was already more Moore´s than Connery´s)
LALT
TMWTGG
TSWLM
MR

Dalton 80s (he was 34 at the beginning of the decade and looked just as good as in 1987):

FYEO (perfect for Dalton´s debut IMO)
OP (I have a little trouble seeing Dalton disguised as a clown, otherwise it could work for him perfectly)
AVTAK (the movie would imrprove a lot)
TLD
LTK

For Brosnan and Craig, the same, although Brosnan did DAD in 2002 and Craig will likely do more movies in the 10s than in the 00s. Hopefully.

That would have certainly made Diamonds are Forever more enjoyable. Moore would have completely filled the gap in that film which Connery didnt seem motivated enough to fill. I like the idea of Dalton in AVTAK simply because it would have made the action scenes a bit livelier, but I really can't imagine it being anyone other than Moores now, Octopussy too, that film was perfect for Moore. And if Dalton had been in FYEO then we'd have never seen that gritty side of Roger (when he kicks the car off the cliff etc) which is a really great Moore moment to a lot of people! OHMSS with Connery would have been interesting but not as good I think/

It's always intresting to picture the other actors in different movies...

It would have been cool to see Connery star in OHMSS, and make that one his swansong... For all I know, I might have enjoyed that movie a lot more had he done it... (Not such a big fan of OHMSS personally). I'm having trouble picturing Connery doing the end scene though, but he would be miles better then Lazenby on pretty much all other aspects. (oneliners, style, arrogance, presence, the way he simply walks etc.)

Diamonds Are Forever has Roger Moore written all over it, it would definitely suit him, but it would proberbly still be a weak Bond movie. And perhaps critcs would have been ever harder on Moore had that one been his debut...

The 80'ies decade starring Dalton would have been very epic! For Your Eyes Only would definitely work well with Dalton! It would proberbly make the movie even better. (And it's already a darn good movie!) But I can't really picture him in Octopussy, flying that plane, dressing as a clown. Sliding down the railing of that stairs, sneaking up the island in a fake alligator, making the "it's all in the whrist joke"... All typical Roger Moore stuff... A View To A Kill Could work with him I guess... (But the would really have to adapt to Dalton's Bond!)

if Brosnan was the Bond of just the 90'ies, he would have only done three Bond movies. If Die Another Day was Daniel Craig's debut as 007, he proberbly would have only done one Bond movie, as he would receive a lot of critique on both being a blond Bond. (as he got a lot of that stuff back when he was first announced) and he would proberbly be roasted on starring in one of the worst Bond movies ever... I guess he got really lucky he got such a good script for his debut in CR to show everyone that he was indeed competent. DAD would have made him the joke among Bond's...

I think Connery would have done an excellent job in OHMSS, if he had been motivated enough (money). Saltzman and Broccoli should have paid him in 1969 what they ended up paying in 1971, and he would have done a good job, IMO. It would have been the perfect goodbye to the series: the wedding, Moneypenny crying,...then Tracy is killed, and he takes off his super- spy mask and cries...Don´t get me wrong, OHMSS is a great movie, and I truly like Lazenby´s performance, but as everyone I imagined many times what could have been...

Then the beginning of DAF is the perfect introduction to a new Bond. Just imagine the PTS with Moore. It just fits. And because he apparently kills Bloefeld, it would have stablished Moore as a tough Bond from the start.

Yes, Moore in FYEO is very convincing, and I agree he shows his gritty side to good effect (he had already done it in TSWLM , IMO, killing Stronberg he´s pretty gritty). Also it would have been very consistent: Connery and Moore did all the novels in the 60s 70s up to Moonraker. From FYEO onwards, it´s the short stories.

Obviously the scripts would have been adapted to Dalton, but I don´t think that would have made OP and AVTAK worse. On the contrary, all would have been minor changes, and the movies would have improved: take out the crocodile submarine of OP and the Tarzan scream, take out California Girls in AVTAK,...minor things IMO. Dalton should have disguised as clown in OP, though.

Your take on this is pretty interesting, and I tend to agree.
