Skyfall thoughts and speculation - SPOILER

MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW
The past sins of M were heavily highlighted in this film and they clearly refer to M's 'betrayal' of Raoul Silva, however it was set up very purposefully for it not to be later used in any significant way...are there any other particular sins that are being hinted at?
Bond asked M is there was anything else she isn't telling him (we later find out that this scene referred to M's relationship with Silva) but to me the weight of this scene seem to suggest another hint at something else.
M remarks to Bond that orphans make better agents.
We are told that his parents died in the Skyfall manor and he hid away to evade capture/death.
Silva notices Bond's parents grave before entering the chapel and then upon seeing M there and the fact that he thinks she is about to meet her demise, me remarks that this is very fitting...why would M dying here have any direct relevance to either of them?
I know there is no real solid ground to speculate this but I just have a feeling that they were trying to hint that M had some involvement in the deaths of Bond's parents and due to her guilt she took him under her wings - this will explain a little more the sentiment (as described in the film) she has towards him.

As to Bond's parents' death, I don't think it was quite the way you put it. In the books a climbing accident was mentioned as a cause of their deaths, so M wasn't very likely to have anything to do with it (unless she REALLY isn't telling us something ) ...naughty) so they probably didn't even die in the UK, let alone in the Skyfall Manor.
But why she is so sentimental about him is still quite a mystery. Any offers? ?:)
