MI6 Building painting in Skyfall

Hi there guys,

I was just trawling the net and found this bit of info;

The painting of the MI6 building in Skyfall is by James Hart Dyke, and was painted back in 2011. More info on the artist can be found here;

http://www.jameshartdyke.com/James_Hart_Dyke_official_website/home.html

To be honest, I find this type of painting quite cool, its almost like a dream-like style of imagery, and some give a tiny insight into the interior of MI6, I particularly like the foyer painting.

Anyway here's the skyfall painting itself;

PLEASE CAN PEOPLE REFRAIN FROM STATING WHERE THE PAINTING IS USED AS IT COULD SPOIL THE FILM FOR OTHERS

Cheers,

    I see he also produced the artwork for the documentary "Everything Or Nothing" (yellow background with all the 007's)

    Yes, it looks quite "different" at the end of the film. I think the correct term would be "distressed"! Hence the need to relocate to M's new office, and back to the old school look of Bernard Lee and Moneypenny

    If anyone wants one, let me know.

    A2 should be around £18 + P&P, but I'll have to check quality at that size.

    Email via the forum if you want to be kept informed.

    Think I've found a good look-a-like frame too, although this will obviously raise the cost and postage charge.

    Quick update guys;

    I've just had one of these printed today, and up close the quality isn't amazing, however it's not bad. But, I've had a change of heart for a very simple reason, that being that I don't think it's right to simply print someone else's work and sell if without their permission.

    Therefore, I'm gonna put the test print in a frame and call it a day. Sorry guys, but I don't think it's fair to JHD.

    Hope you guys understand,

    Can't fault you there Jeff, maybe if the artist was aware of the selling potential of prints of this he would produce them himself in high quality. Look what's happened with RD Jack {[]

    Thank you guys for understanding.

    I'm gonna contact the artist and see what he thinks about doing a run of prints, ill keep you guys posted with any news. I suspect that legal issues etc will probably get in the way, but you don't get if you don't ask.

    Cheers for now,

    I'd defiantly be up for a print if the artist does a limited run.
    Also to have it signed would be awesome.
    Major kudos for respecting the artist. :)

    This chap went out to Afghanistan a couple of years ago. A rather dramatic tongue in cheek article was written in the 8-) Daily Mail

    Hi guys,

    Just a quick update. I've yet to hear anything from James Hart Dyke, so I guess he's either not interested or the email has been binned by an assistant or something. A bit disappointing but there ya go, can't have it all.

    Anyway, I got the image printed for my own collection. I'd just like to state that I'm not selling this, or printing any others.

    Here's the original;

    And here's my attempt;

    Hope you guys like it, and sorry that attempts to have this officially done fell on its arse,

    Hi guys, thanks for the comments.

    The image was tweaked in photoshop to enlarge it and increase the resolution. I then had it printed on semi gloss paper.

    The frame is from a store called 'The Range', it's like a bargain home furnishings store here in the UK. I bought the card from there too, I think the two items were less than £10.

    I cut the mount and estimated the size from the picture in the 'Bond on Set' book. The mount looks roughly the same width at the borders as the wooden frame. The image was resized to match the mount.

    The biggest bonus is the Mrs has granted permission to hang the picture up in the house, bonus!!

    minigeff would you be willing to send the modified photoshop version on request?
  • minigeffminigeff EnglandPosts: 7,884MI6 Agent
    I've been absolutely inundated and swamped under with at least 2 requests for the photoshop image.

    All I did was find it on the net, resize it to suit the mount in the frame and upped the res to 300dpi. That's it, no tweaking the contrast/brightness/hues or anything else.

    Therefore guys, if ya need the image, it's easy enough to sort it yourselves.
